Hey everyone!! I acquired a 1985 from my aunt last October. She bought it new in December 1984 and has been promising it to me for 40 years. She finally realized at 80 years old, she just couldn't get in and out of it easily. Her husband passed away about 8 years ago and he did all of the maintenance on it, so it has been mostly sitting in the garage since. Needless to say, the tires only had 300 miles on them, but were 12 years old. The oil had 400 miles on it, but was 13 years old. I have started the process of updating everything to make it a good running and safe car again. All original with 57k miles on it.

Looks like a very nice C4. Good moves in getting the maintenance up to date and once finished, it should be a fun car to drive. Welcome and hope you enjoy the forum.
Two tone Always loved C4s in two tone colors. Your Aunt has great taste....... Drain and replace all the fluids , get new tires and get that beautiful C4 back on the road......
So far I drained the old gas and put in fresh with injector cleaner, changed spark plugs, wires, cap, rotor, fuel filter, belt, and air filter. Also did an oil change, put on new tires, changed out the 40 year old rubber brake lines for stainless and new brake fluid. There is a small coolant leak, so would like to change the water pump and possibly the original coolant hoses one of these days. I think I have put about 200 miles on it around town just making sure everything is good. Even drove it to the Corvette Expo this weekend in Pigeon Forge.
Welcome & Congrat’s - Your ‘84 is almost like new…
Did you drive on The Tail of the Dragon per your trip to the Corvette Expo?
I did not. I think they did that drive on Thursday and I had to work. Tail of the Dragon is about an hour from my house and I also ride motorcycles, so have probably been there hundreds of times, just not in the Corvette yet!
Here’s a shot of my 1st Vette, a ‘96 LT4 we enjoyed the Smoky Mountains(SM) in late 2004, we spent a long weekend in a mountain home rental. SM area was definitely a bucket list item we enjoyed checking off our list.
We’ve made it back a few times since that trip, it’s always a great time/adventure.

Sharp looking car!! I like the later C4's better than the '85, but being a family owned car since new, there is some sentimental attachment.
I have a 2001 Honda VFR with 103k miles on it, a Suzuki GSX-S1000 with close to 20k miles, and a Grom. My GF has two Ninja 500's & a Grom. The Smokey Mountains were a huge contributing factor to us moving here a few years ago.
Welcome, Ken. I love Corvettes with great backstories like yours. You are making all of the right moves with getting her up and running properly. I’ll bet that your aunt is proud! Enjoy your new ride!
