Default Finally

I have lurked around some on this forum as google questions often send one here.

Briefly, I have wanted a C3 since I was old enough to know one car from another. C3s were the Corvette generation of my youth.

Responsibilities and finances delayed scratching that itch until now.

I bought a 1981. I have pieces of the car's history.and some worrie

s about what might lie ahead.

Apparently, the fellow two owners ago wanted to make a drag car and started on a 454 swap but did not have the know-how.
He then hired someone to do an engine swap and ended up with a rebuilt 400 SBC; I am not sure of the cam. It has Edelbrock C3BX intake and Holley 80457-13 1032 carburetor.
It seems to run well. The Seller seemed to be a car guy; he has a top shelf '69 SS Camaro and is finishing a '64 C10 rebuild. I believe him when he says that he went into the motor once and the 400 had been drilled properly and has the proper head gaskets; he even offered to keep the 400 and swap in a built 350 he had if I preferred.

The big problems with the car stem from the engine swap; while it appears to be well executed, they deleted most everything not necessary to the engine install.
There are no vacuum lines to the headlights. The AC was removed except for the compressor and bracket to preserve the serpentine belt.
There are probably a lot more items I have not discovered yet.

It has a decent 10 footer paint job. It has some metal flake in the paint that I am not sure that I like.
It rides on BFGs on Crager SSs and I intended to swap for original slots when I first considered the purchase. However, the look and stance are growing on me.

I want to be able to drive it when I want, including maybe some weekend trips. I work from home so I do not do a lot of "daily driving."

I am no mechanic but can turn a wrench.

I suspect y'all will tire of my questions about what to do and how to do it.

We shall see.

I must be more than 10 feet away because your Corvette looks gorgeous. I hope you can quickly get everything mechanically the way you want it. Your Corvette has a wonderful price profile! Enjoy!
