Default Got an Extended Warranty from Dennis The Other Day Read Here.

Dennis and the other People at Fichtner are so awsome. I decided to get an extended warranty for my 2004 Coupe, I got a great deal and it was "No Hassle" I would HIGHLY recommend you shop them first before buying a GM Warranty.

Thanks Much,.. R. K. Downers Grove, IL.

I've bought four of the GMPP's from Ken & Dennis. They are the best to deal with and never say No to a request!!

I bought an extended warranty from Ken when I decided to keep my 2003 for an extra year. Only needed to increase the mileage from 36,000 to 50,000 so I took the $200 deductible. When I traded the car it had 43,000 miles so I got a refund of some of my payment.

It was a pleasant transaction from start to finish.

Thanks Ken.

I just got a 2001 convertable that's GM certified, but for an extended warranty I live in Oregon and have never had any plesant experiences here with warranties or trying to get someone to do warranty work. Are the warranties through you something any GM dealer can do or does it have to be brought to you're location? Do these vehicles have enough possible problems to warrant an extended warranty if it's used as a daily driver and not for racing?

Any help is appreciated, I've given up trying to find any locally. Thanks!

Default GMPP Questions

Unfortunately I will be unable to help you with your GMPP due to the fact your 2001 would be out of the base factory warranty. For any dealer to sell you a GMPP he would have to do a full inspection of your car to verify no existing problems and then they would probably charge an exobitant rate to you also for the warranty. We have the best pricing anywhere but again your car has to be in warranty.

Ditto to that! I bought my extended warranty in January and am very pleased with the pricing and excellent customer servive that I recieved.

IMHO, anyone interested in the extended warranty should check with Fichtner before buying.

Default Extended Warranty Questions

I'm a new corvette owner and keep reading about the GM Extented Warranty and was wondering if it is advisable to purchase the warranty for the new C6. I'm wondering how other owners feel about purchasing an additional warranty over the 36 month 36K miles manufacture's warranty. I've always heard that the small block chevy engine was very reliable and was under the impression an additional warranty was unecessary.

Your comments/opinions please.

Default GMPP Response

Most of my customers are buying the GMPP Warranty for the Electronics in the car. The new C6 is a very highly electronic car and thus everything is very expensive to fix. Most people do not get the extended warranties because they feel the engine or transmission will go bad they want to cover the fuel pump(very expensive to replace) and again all the electrical items in this car. If you would like a quote on this Email me at gmpp@fichtnerchevrolet.com and I would be happy to provide you with a quote.

Suite C6:

I got a GMPP when I took delivery of my Z06. I got the GMPP through Fichtner although the car was bought through a local dealer here in metro Detroit. Buying the GMPP when you take delivery makes the plan a little cheaper. I felt that having the GMPP would make it easier to resell if I do that and if I traded it, I could still get a partial refund. As Dennis points out, there are other features of the vehicle (really, of any vehicle) that can get expensive if there is a problem.

I got the warranty quotes from Ken and have a question. Does the extended warranty start from the date and mileage when the extended warranty is purchased or does it just extend to the number of miles and years the original warranty had. i.e. If I bought the 5 year 60,000 mile GMPP and my in service date was 4/03 would the 5 years end 4/08 or 5 years after I purchased the GMPP?

Thanks

I just recently purchased a GMPP from the fine folks at Fichtner, it starts the day you puchase the plan.

Default GMPP Question

MRC you are quite right and again thanks for your business. The warranty starts the day you purchase it from us and extends your miles over and above what is on your vehicle so purchasing the 60/60 today your warranty would expire on 3/26/10 and if you have 20K on your vehicle you would be covered until 80K. Hope this helps.

Is there any difference in extended waranty price if we buy "new" or close to the end of the factory warranty?
