At This Time Gm Has Not Come Out With The Ipod Adapter. They Are Still Telling Us Sometime In December Before They Are Available.
I Will Post As Soon As They Come Available From Gm Otherwise You Will Need To Go With An Aftermarket Unit.

REGRETFULLY NO NEWS YET
I HAVE SENT AN EMAIL TO NANCY PHILLIPART WHO IS THE HEAD OF GM ACCESSORIES BUT HAVE NOT RECEIVED AN ANSWER OR EVEN AN ACKNOWLEDGEMENT. I THINK I'M ON HER BLACK LIST FOR HOLLERING ABOUT ACCESSORIES TOO MANY TIMES
I HAVE MY REGIONAL PARTS REP AND HIS BOSS TRYING TO FIND OUT WHAT IS ACTUALLY HAPPENING. I CALLED GM PARTS TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE AND THEY SAY ITS AVAILABLE FOR THE HHR AND ONE OTHER CAR, BUT I DON'T REMEMBER WHICH ONE. THEY SAY THEY CAN'T EVEN SEE WHERE ONE IS IN DEVELOPMENT FOR THE VETTE AT ALL, WHICH IS REALLY FRUSTRATING SINCE GM PARTS HAS SPECIFICALY BEEN SAYING THEY WERE COMING BY DECEMBER AT THE LATEST. I HOPE THE PARTECH INFORMATION IS IN ERROR!
AS SOON AS I HAVE ANY INFORMATION I WILL POST BACK HERE.

I just got off the phone with GM Accessories and there is still no eta or part numbers avaiable
Since they usually have a part number available about 90 days before the parts are actually available I would say their June availability is probably not going to happen AGAIN.

Bob, I don't expect you to respond but I have to say it.
This may be a reason GM is hurting. They fail to meet mark et demands
or listen to what the consumer wants. Other car manufactures do.
A simple item like this seems to be to hard for them......
I just had to say it.

I have been in the parts business for 30 years now, and GM is excellent in some areas but don't even make it to the ball park let alone get in the game in others.
The one thing that is consistant about GM is that they are not consistant. I honestly think that at times they just don't get it! It makes it frustrating for you as a customer and us in trying to get you what you want and need. One statement I have made for years is when dealing with General Motors common sense does not always enter into the equation.

I-pod
Bob
My wife has a 2008 Armada (Nissan) it comes with blue tooth, I_POD
and has voice recognition, plus a music box, which is simply a 10 gb hardrive built in. It is user friendly.
Why does GM not offer something similar?? we know they have the technology,HHR I-POD and others have it available the vettes AND THEIR OWNERS are being treated like the REDHEADED STEPCHILD, they are not listening to what comforts we want.
However we did get one bad____ss car and engine package!!!!!
I guess we will have to sufferr thru it
GREAT JOB ON KEEPING UP WITH IT!!!
Thanks from all of us

This thread was started in November of 2007 and GM still doesn't have a IPOD adapter ready. This makes no sense. It's not like they are working on something that requires dismantling the entire car to install.

Not sure if this will work for you, but this is what I did for my sister... Go to Best Buy, Circuit City (better hurry...), WalMart, Radio Shack (or a myriad of others) and buy an MP3/FM accessory. It plugs right into your iPod and broadcasts your iPod player on a programmable FM station that you can set your FM radio to. No hard connections between your iPod and your radio. Simply tune your radio to the "station" that the accessory is broadcasting to and viola, your iPod plays on your radio! Hope this helps!

A coworker used this for the stereo at work. One downside I noticed is that you only get FM quality, which kinda sucks. But if you don't want to mess around with your wiring, and/or the "Lockpick" workaround or whatever, then this is definately a great option!
... Am I even allowed to post here?

I just called GM again and was told there is nothing in the works at this time for an ipod adapter for the Corvette. The person I talked to in GM Accessories pulled up all engineering information in relation to this and said there is nothing out there at this time.
If I had to make a guess I would say it is most likely NOT GOING TO HAPPEN! These have probably disappeared as not an important thing to worry about at this time in the current GM situation.
If I ever hear of a change in this I will put a very large post out on this. In the mean time I suggest you go aftermarket if you don't want to wait forever.
