Any comments about not running a front plate in Colorado. I have not had one since new, about 2 years ago. I would like to avoid it if at all possible, I see a lot of comments about other states, just want to know if any Colorado `vettes have had problems. Thanks
I know that it is the law to have one on the front, but I dont have one on my car. Only time this was an issue was up in Aspen, and I was given a warning by the local Sheriff. Jason
The only time I ever had any problems was when I parked downtown at a parking meter, $30.00 ticket

Down town they will get you at meters for this, but I've never been bothered with it, and I'll pay the ticket, 'cause that is the the way the Vette should look.

I used to just put the plate on my dash when I parked downtown, then I still got a ticket because it wasn't attached.
But after 15 years of no plates and getting stopped a few times, I never got a ticket for never having the plate.... until a few weeks ago. Got stopped by state patrol, but he just gave me a warning. I'm still not going to put the plate on!
I don't have a front plate on my C6, and don't plan on it. I did get a front plate missing ticket last month at Cherry Creek at a parking meter (on a work van). The ticket was for $40 bucks. I did have a front plate on my C5 only because they provided a decent place to put it. Most Vette owners I know will not and won't put on a front plate. I'll pay the bucks and a front plate on a C6 is butt ugly!
18 months without, and so far, so good. I have the plate behind my seat and the bolts in the ash tray. "I just picked them up from the dealer, Sir, and I didn't know what funny kind of screwdriver I need to take the cover off."

I keep mine there too. Before he had even walked up to the car, I had pulled it out along with the dash placard from the last car show I went to. "Sorry... I just went to a car show and haven't had time to put it back on!"
Haven't ever used mine since I took delivery in 03. Once was pulled over for a warning on I25 north of Denver on Labor Day. I have heard of people getting tickets while parked downtown.
I run a front plate on mine, not worth worrying about a ticket or to give them another reason to pull me over....car gets enough attention as it is due to its looks!
Does not look to bad with the "color matched smoothie" Plate frame.
I don't run a front plate (two warnings in 6 years), but I have a friend that attached his under the front of the C5 with a piano hinge. He runs runs with it up and out of site and then pulls it down when he parks in the down town area. You would never know it was there when it is in the up position.
