Default July 3 Event

Looking for something to do on July 3? Lars and the Colorado Corvette Crazies are hosting two Corvette Forum members from Norway in early July. Since all Norwegians are Lutheran by law, we are planning a church social for them in Anton, Colorado on said date (My wife is the Pastor there). Services begin at 10:00 AM and car talk begins after that. Lunch will be available for a nominal fee. Since it will be wheat harvest time, the amber waves of grain should be an impressive sight for our foreign guests, and others who have never seen where our daily bread comes from.

Come out and help us show our foreign guests an all-American great time. Visit with the infamous Lars, technician in charge of the International Corvette Tuning for Beer Tour. If you ever hang out on the C2/C3 Forum, you will know who I am talking about.

Anton is about 100 miles due east of Denver. Take I-70 to exit 136 at Byers (note the sign that says the speed limit is 25 mph!), go north on 36, under the freeway and then due east on Hwy 36 for only 55 more miles, 20 miles past Last Chance. The church is just east of the only intersection in Anton, Colorado.

My wife and I will actually be doing probably the exact opposite that day..we'll be in Vegas for our aniversary that weekend but it sounds like a fun day.
Just our of curiousity, what's Lars going to talk about? Any specific topics or is it general Q/A?
Thanks-Eric.

Crusin, sorry to hear you will be out of town. I hope to have my 69 tri-power ready to make the run.

The get together will be informal and social, so no specific presentations will be made. Lars will just be himself, and talk to friends about whatever he wants.

Thanks for your interest. Ralph

Just pushing this back to the top Ralph.
Come on you Denver vetters! The CCC rarely goes on a group drive, so this is a great chance to meet the CCC clan.

Got a meeting time & place for the start of the trip Ralph?

I'm leaving about 6AM with my wife to help her set things up. Not sure if others are caravaning, but just plan to be there at 10AM for the festivities. Is about a 2 hour drive from Denver metro area.

Hope to see you there.

Ralph.

I sold a '69 'vette to a guy in Norway, Egil Askeland, a couple of years ago. I'd be interested to know if your visitors know him.
