Default Job Offer @ Ft Carson help????

All,
The title says it all... Is there a good 1/4 mile track in Coloroado Springs? How about a big track in Co? What is the deal in the state for front plates (any?)? How about exhaust work (ie will my LG Pro Lts be legal there with cats)? How is the Vette seen and the clubs?

Help?????????? Any opinions would be most appreciated and thanks in advance
Dave
PS Yes I am reading old threads here researching... lots of info hey what about good shops??? if I take it I will need a dyno too and fly Jeff Creech out to tune my car every quarter

Dunno about the springs but west of Denver is Bandimere for your 1/4 needs. Front plates are a fine but nothing they can stop you for. Gotta bust you for something else first then add it on. Regarding exhaust, well, if Lembo can get away with his big pipes, you'll be fine. The only big track left in CO is down in Pueblo. But hey, with our Zs, that's a quick trip!

How Chief Dave

As Straatien says, Bandimere is in Morrison, Co. it's a good track, and nice facility, and is home of the Mile-Hi Nationals, and is about a hour, hour and half from Ft. Carson, and Pueblo has a quarter mile track as well, and a 2.2 mile road course, located west of Pueblo, and they call Pueblo Motorsport Park, I was down ther this last weekend, nice track, and if you have an atv or motorcycle, looked to be alot of riding for those as well. But the other tracks that where around, where all closed this last year for some reason, which really sucks.

The state law requires a front plate, although not stricly enforced, but it is a reason to get get pulled over, unlike what my friend say above and I don't think that you should have any trouble with emission as long as you have the cats.

Not sure who to recommend, for a tuner, but will tell that you should stay away from Corvette Connection, in Denver

From what I kow of it, there is a good Corvette Club in the Springs, as well some in the Denver area, and all the clubs seem to get along well together, and I suppose that the big event for Corvettes is "Vettes On The Rockies" held yearly up in the Brecenridge Frisco area, with vettes coming from all over the country!

But the biggest thing that you will notice is the lack of power at this altitude, you are likely to lose a full second off of your 1/4 mile times

Although I'm fairly new to the Corvettes there are alot of road to go driving on, and the winters aren't all that bad, there are some days that mine stays in the garage, but there are days during the winter that I have it out, as in last weekend down at Pueblo, and most of the people are Great

The Pueblo Track should be pretty close to you, since Ft Carson is on the south side of the springs. Bandimere is a great place, and not too far.

When do you think you will end up out here? There is lots of stuff to do. The local vette clubs havea series of autocrosses. Several also have a team of for the club clash at Bandimere for 1/4 mile work. The club in the Springs seems to be heavy into racers, so you should be in a good position.

...oh, I'm crazy? You're the wild man! 3Pedal & I were just talking about the three wildman look-alikes:

1) Bluzey
2) TORCAs Dave Williams
3) Lembo

We should get a picture of the three of you together.

I wasn't sure about the plate being worthy of a stop or not.

...*oof!* I just hijacked another thread...

Not true about the front plate. I and many friends have been stopped for no front plate as the primary reason for being stopped. We all received a written warning. I put my plate on, some others didn't and received a ticket the second time. It was always the State Patrol that made the stops.
