I'm trying to get my headers done, thats the plan this weekend...
One hint is that when doing a cat back, if for some reason you want to keep the stock system you will need a lift. You have to get it very high to get the stock system out, higher than putting headers in. If you don't want to keep it, then get a sawzall and cut it. Much easier, and you don't have to lift nearly has high.
Yeah I am thinking I am going to have a shop install. I don't have a floor jack or a lift. And the cost of a good floor jack is about as much as having the shop install. And I'd have to rent a sawzall or buy a hack saw. Figgured I'd see if anyone happened to have the facilities (ie tools)
If you decide to do it yourself instead of a shop, I have a floor jack, and stands and I'd be game to help. Unfortunately this weekend would be out, as I am tiling a room at my house . . . but just let me know if you need any help.
I am supposed to get it on the 21 so it wouldn't be till next weekend. I think it would be cool to do it myself but I don't want to impose either. If the weather is nice and you are up for the following weekend let me know. I can't see this being a hard install just more inconvienent without the floor jack LOL.
I have 6 jack stands.... and a floor jack, and wood "ramps" to drive up on to get high enough to get the jack under the car.... and Rhino ramps if your car will fit up those.
It doesn't look like you have to get the car near as high as a C5 to install the system, but according to Borla you have to remove the H-pipe to do a catback installation. Make sure you've got good penetrating oil to lubricate all the nuts and bolts.... would be best if you soaked them the night before the install, i.e., get the car up on stands Friday night and then attempt the install on Saturday.
Keeps us updated.... I can at least come by and learn something about the C6's, which would be cool.

They exhaust on the C6 does not come out as "clean" as a C5. You have to remove the front H pipe section as stated above. Still not that difficult (with a lift) but just an additional step.
I would offer my services and lift but I am a little far away.
