Why so few posts?????
Just out of curiosity, I have noticed that this section for regional posts does not get many posts. Also, I see other regional areas that have get togethers, cruises, dyno days, and other get togethers, but I have yet to see much here.
Are we just that much busier here in the midwest that we can't get together every so often?
do we just not have that much to say?
I'm just curious..... What do you have to say?????
It is hard to get someone to spear head things like that. definately not me I suck at the organizational thing ( I don't think i know how to spell it either) :D
Used to live in California-drove it year round, had plenty of tracks(dragstrip/roadrace/autocross)-lots of excitement.
Matter of fact what I wouldn't give for one curvey road within 100 miles of where I live.
I guess one good thing is it forces me to put the car on blocks for 4 months so I can tear it apart...I would rather be driving it though-just seems to be too expensive of a toy to be sitting in the garage...
I think a lot of people like me are busy in the summer and get back to
the forum in the off season such as right now. The weather in Sioux Falls
has been good this year but last year we had snow at this time.
:) If your looking for something fun to do, check out the Sand Hills Open Road Race and Shootout. This year they are adding a 1 mile shootout. The trophy will be awarded to the car that will do the best ET in a mile from a standing start. It's only a hundred bucks to do the shootout. That shouldn't hold anyone back. Gerry Plepson is already talking smart that he will be at least 3 miles per hour faster than my 97' coupe, auto. I still think that by the time he gets done either bogging down or spinning, I will be far down the track and on the way to the trophy.
What do you all think your car will do in a mile from a standing start?
I anxious to know what you all think. Hopefully, this will create a few posts!
Sorry Bruce for taking so long to reply to this "smack" about the 1 mile shootout. You heard me correct, I will be at least 3 mph faster than you. Your rammer is being considered, though if you throw down with a bit of NOX, the bet is off. But then again, a tired old '97 would probably blow up running a mile on the juice!
:chevy Gerry,
It's about time you came on with an answer! I thought maybe you went off and got married or something!
You probably will do three miles per hour better than me. I just thought it would be fun to fire up a little competition. Just don't be sleeping at the line when it's time to go. One thing about the automatics, they don't miss shifts!
Don't worry about the NOS. I don't think I will be doing any modifications on this car. It goes fast enough. I do hope that I can hit around 145 in the mile shootout. I have a feeling that it will do that or better.
It should be fun and I hope that we will get some of the Corvette Forum Members to join us at the 2nd Annual Sand Hills Classic.
