We're doing the trip on the 20th. Hope to see some good color on the way to Glenwood Springs, not many trees from Glenwood to Grand Junction. I have some friends in the mountains that say that the trees are turning so it should be okay the next several weekends.
As aside, have you ever driven the Glenwood Canyon in your car?
