Colorado fall foliage
We'll be riding AMTRAK next weekend Denver to Grand Junction and return....hoping the aspens will be turning color. Anyone have any reports?

We're doing the trip on the 20th. Hope to see some good color on the way to Glenwood Springs, not many trees from Glenwood to Grand Junction. I have some friends in the mountains that say that the trees are turning so it should be okay the next several weekends.
As aside, have you ever driven the Glenwood Canyon in your car?

Thanks for the report! It sounds promising......Haven't driven in the mountains for quite awhile....we live in SD, so it's quite a treat for us.....

You'll see plenty of color alright, but it will more than likely be beatle kill.
If you haven't been here in a while don't be shocked, but here is what a lot of Summit county looks like.
It'll still be a fun trip though.

we have been spending every weekend in the silverthorne area at our condo for the past 2 months ( renovating 
). Plenty of isolated Aspen groupings in full yellow splendor from Georgetown to Copper Mtn..
I drove to Eagle to chase some blue "dusky" grouse on saturday. Once I got over vail pass it seams like the area from Vail to beaver-creek did not have as many changing.
Peak should be over the next two weekends. Its also summit county parade of homes for the next two weeknds. which is very
I'll be in the middle of it all this weekend while hunt for more grouse in Steamboat springs with my weim "Ibis" then scout for Elk north of Silverthorne. This time of year is incredible!!!
