Howdy to all the local guys and gals. Car Found. Thanks for all the input.

I am a old dude (61) in Colorado, looking to buy my frist Corvette (I know what took so long). I have been looking all over the country for the past few months, and am seriously considering an '02 black coupe in CA with 36k miles, M6, bone stock and plastic still covering the doors) or a NB 2000 M6. with 31K in PA. Both around $19000. Before I pull the trigger, I thought I had better post here and see if there is anything a bit closer to home. I posted on the C5 for sale fourm a few months back and had some nice offers, but nothing that really spoke to me.

WTB C5 coupe, convertible (or in my dreams the right Z), stock is better, low miles is better, M6 is better, newer ('02+) is better, around $20K, no financing issues. None of these preferences are set in stone (except price). Close to Colorado is better, but will travel for the right deal.

All Reds are good as is black, darker silver colors, spiral grey, most blues. Probably not yellow or white.

I know I can't and won't get all I want with the $$$ I have, but if you have a car you want or need to sell or know of a car in that $$$ range run it by me, can't hurt. PM me or email at

Since white is out I should just keep quiet, but......
Ed Carrol in Ft. Collins has a 98, white vert with an auto. I think it has 50K on it. Asking $19 which is high, but it's been there for at least 3 weeks and I'm sure they're open to offers.

I only know about it because I drive past it every day on the way home from work.

Keep looking and don't rush it, my brother just got a nice one from AZ for a very good price.

Also check with Purifoy Chevrolet in Ft Lupton. They usually have a nice and clean selection of cars.

Get Bit, thanks. I do check in with them now and then. They are very nice, have a good selection, and have treated me well, but seem to be pretty proud of thier cars.

I agree however, in this economy it might not hurt to go in and beat them up on a price for one. As you know if they have it the car is clean and gone over with a fine tooth comb. Can't say that about most other dealerships around here.

I know of a 98 triple black convertible in Loveland that a lady owns. Think it had 20K miles, her husband passed away and it is too fast for her. Friend of mine looked at it about a month ago and said it was perfect, but just out of his range. I have no idea how to contact her, I can ask my friend when he gets back in town if he can get the information if you'd be interested. (assuming she still has it)

Well, the new toy arrived today.

What a sweet car. Beautiful. Now to get it smogged (I hope it passes) and plates so I can go zoom, zoom.

Pretty darned excited for an old dude.

See ya down the road. Any places along the front range you all meet and tell lies about your cars. We do it with the bikes pretty regularly.
