Looking for a 2011 GS. Despite all the claims on the forum I can't find a dealer that will move more then $3500 off MSRP plus the $3000 incentive in Denver. Should I wait and order a 2012? Any good experiences with metro area dealers? Thanks in advance
Be patient, as soon as the 2012's come out and they have a bunch of them left over, they will be dealing like crazy. Are you limiting your search to the Denver area? If so, don't, do a countrywide search.
Purifoy Chevy in Fort Lupton has 11 GS models in-stock on their website (not-so-cheap 3LT's & 4LT's). Probably get a great deal on leftovers in Oct/Nov... just in time for winter storage.
That is, OF COURSE it'll cost more now... $6500 off MSRP might be the best you can do locally.
If you're going to wait for a better deal, IMO you might as well order a 2012. You'll get the car you want. And depending on options, the price might be better than current leftover 2011 models.
Contact Ken at Fichtner Chevy in MT for a quote/info on when you can order a 2012 and estimated delivery time. Compare with quotes from local dealers... might be worth your time to buy from Fichtner and drive home.
It definitely was worth it for me. And it was the best new-car experience I've ever had.
I looked online from coast to coast and was ready to have my 2011 GS Coupe shipped from Atlantic City. Then in Colo Spgs, I found the exact GS I wanted at Al Serra. 10k off MSRP. Much better than around the Denver metro area, even a bit less than all of the comparable 2010 leftovers I found. So if you are like me and don't want to wait you might want to try these guys. I found going thru the internet mgr rather than walking in seemed to get me a better price. I looked for over 2 months and found this dealer pretty close to home.
I set everything up online or over the phone, it was very easy. I drove down after work signed the docs and an hour later drove home my first and brand new vette.
