Not really. He's a very accomplished wheeler. Definetely not stupid. She was holdig onto the oh'shiz handle just like she was instructed in case a rollorver occured and escaped without injury. The rollcage is located in front of the windsheild and the rear tire carrier acts as the rear rollcage. The middle sectionction the she was holding onto is non-structrual at that point.
You're stupid for assuming these people don't know what they're doing

LOL. I've wheeled for close to 40 years. I've built extreme rock crawling rigs for years, including suspension and cage design/fabrication. I've driven every trail in this part of the country, many times, over many, many years. I've never rolled a rig. To even get into the spot he was in and roll it was poor driving, poor spotting, or both. Period. Whoever told the lady to grab a handle on the roll cage if it rolls should not have passengers in his rig. Ever.
Non-structural rollcage? Seriously???
OK, on a non-humorous note, a flop can happen to anyone if they're not careful, have a good spotter and aren't thoroughly attuned to their rig and its quirks. Anybody, and I mean ANYBODY, that would tell a passenger to grab for any part of the cage or a handle on the cage if the rig rolls needs to rethink their instructions to their passengers. Nobody should ever grab the cage or a handle on the cage if the rig starts to go over. That's how you lose fingers. I've seen it, it's not pretty.

Fair enough. But that's not the rollcage. The stock bars are not designed to be a cage. There are aftermarket cages on the front and rear. If those were not there there would have been damage.
And yes, bad spotters. They were the ones eating chips. But I'm glad it happened or else I wouldn't have the footage. More to come we are about to headout to the trail in a minute

Looks like Moab, what trails you running? Rusty Nail is my personal favorite there.

i would be finding new spoters and sending these guys my repair bill
thanks for the feedback! it was a lot of work getting all the footage of not just the rollover but the entire trip. now 6 weeks of editing ahead.... if i'm lucky.
feels good to have someone comment on the shots instead of the driver
