Well my in-laws home went up in flames around 6:30 pm. my father in-law is a colorado springs firefighter and he stayed at their house till the flames came up to their deck. then he left.. everyone is ok and the animals are as well... I hope 7LiterC5 wasn't effected by it and if so I hope you and your family are ok. Please let me know if I can help anyway.
We are about 1/4 mile from Meridian, the mandatory evacuation line. Winds have died down so that should help.
Sorry about your in-laws, that really sucks but at least they made it out safe.
Hey Michael, anything we can do to help them? Hate to hear about that happening to anybody but even worse when it is somebody who chose to serve his community as a fire fighter. I am still waiting to hear how my college roommate made out. He is just east of meridian at hodgens
Thanks Michael. I am very sorry to hear that your in laws lost their home. It is terrible to hear that so many people have lost their homes especially this close to home.
We are 1/4 mile south of Burgess and are currently in a pre evacuation zone. From the little that I have been able tell the fire was within 1/2 mile or so of our house at one point but our house was ok.
The only bad thing is that the Vette is stuck up on the lift as we have no power.
Looks like the Vietnam war over the top of my house. Helicopters are running no stop back and forth carrying buckets of water. I think most of the fire danger is now to the north of where we live (Meridian Ranch) because the winds were coming from the south most of yesterday. If they reverse most of the fuel the fire needs to continue is already consumed.
