Indoor track huh? I'd definitly go if someone built one, but I think we're going to need to deal with this weather for now. I had my Corvette out yesterday and it wasn't all that bad, but it is very comforting to know that I have a Grand Cherokee in the garage for the next 5 months or so. Having a 600 hp RWD car on ice isn't all that fun if you really need to get somewhere in the winter in Colorado. I know people will argue that the Traction Control makes the car perfectly drivable in snow. But I remember last year when we got almost 4ft of snow in 3 days. Unless you have an 8 inch lift and a 4WD conversion kit on your Corvette, it just isn't going to happen. Winter Sucks for Corvettes.

I was out last Wednesday night at the Hooters off Parker road and Havana. On the way home I was running with another Z06 and broke my rear tires loose in third. My rear tires were in the median while my fronts were stil in the left lane :D :D ... saved it!! Cold tires, cold pavement and a ton of HP makes for an interesting ride.
I'm little anxious to see if the vette will make it out to Breck, Keystone, ect.
Unless it's your only car, I wouldn't try it if I were you. Heavy storms can overtake the mountains pretty quickly, and even if you drove up on a nice morning, there could be 8" of snow on the way home - not something I'd want to negotiate in a Vette! Plus, why risk it - even if you're driving carefully, there are plenty of idiots out there ready, willing and able to slide into you - I'd rather have 'em whack an SUV or pickup or "beater" than my Vette, that's for sure. Finally, don't forget that wonderful "mag-chloride" goop they put on the roads. If you haven't driven in a Colo. winter yet, be prepared - that crap stains chrome - permanently!
JMHO and .02 worth!
 yep i drove my 91 for about 3 years in the snow from Thornton to DTC every day in the snow....the key is to fill the tank with gas to the max and have good tires....I never got stuck in my car and aslong as my tires where good i never had a problem...yes some slippage but nothing i couldnt manage!
Oh, I'll always keep it ready to drive in the winter, we have plenty of nice days to do it, but I absolutely will not take the risks with the Vette in snow, it's too special to me. I've got a couple of perfectly good SUVs for that action! My bikes get out and play too, but all the sand they spread on the roads makes winter riding very challenging!
Last year I didn't even think of putting my car up on jacks:nono: , although it might have set for a week or two before getting it back out, but nothing like two or three months :steering: , and no it doesn't come out in the snow no more  that is way too scary :yesnod:
Welcome EBZ, Last year my first winter in Vette. Had plans to lay it up and do all kinds of work. The weekends stayed so nice I never got around to doing anything. Glad I wasn't out Saturday night, I-25 looked like they were playing bumper cars in the snow and ice.
Yep, this past weekend our Vettes went "under cover" I'm sure we'll have a chance to drive them a couple of weekends during the winter. I just hate all the leftover sand/salt on the roads
I'm a soon to be C5 owner here in Englewood, I founded the Colorado Lexus Club, but have got some since, I am in process of getting rid of the Lexus and picking up a real car (1999 C5 hardtop, pewter). What kind of clubs are there for Colorado Corvette owners around here?
