You do not have to be an NCM member! You get discounts on the registration (and at the NCM store) if you are though

The California Caravan will be passing thru that way. I haven't decided yet on whether I will take the southern route thru Texas, or the middle route thru Oklahoma, as I did last year.

Odds are I won't be able to make Dallas by Tuesday morning when the Texas Caravan departs, so I will probably end up doing I-40 and return thru Dallas in July.

If I do take I-40, Ft Smith Arkansas might be a good rally point.
Bring Deer ammo, I may be in short supply after AZ and NM.

How many vette's are going to be with you? What do you think about meeting in Tulsa, OK? Let me know what you think and I will check this thread daily. If we do meet in Tulsa we can make a pit stop in Hooters!.....because they have good wings!

Vettelovr -

For cruise-In VI the California Caravan was comprised entirely of Millennium Yellow Z51 Corvettes; I don't know yet if that will change for this year.

I am booked at an event a few hundreds miles north of home for Saturday, so I will not be eastbound until Sunday morning, with a 2,082 mile run to Bowling Green if I take I-40. Thats a day earlier than last year, as the Bakersfield event was on Sunday in 2005.

This allows arrival Tuesday PM with a leisurely 700 miles a day - more than that is a little too much like work for me.

Tulsa is a maybe, as is Muskogee, as there is a young forum member and his wife that live there that I may stop to visit.

You may also want to consider meeting up with the Texans -

I joined up with them in western Tennessee last year for the final leg of the run in. They do like a spirited run, so be wide awake if you team up with them.

And do NOT comment on Mary's (Gray Fox) shoes.

As my schedule firms up, I will keep you posted, or email me at

icedancr@comcast.net or
webmaster@corvettesofsocal.com

That would be awesome if we all can meet at Memphis! I have been looking for a motel to stay in that still has available rooms. I am looking at Fairfield Inn and Microtel Inn. Do you have any suggestions? When will everyone be leaving? I was thinking on Monday morning.

I will probably depart Bowling Green on Monday morning, but will be continuing on to the east coast for a few weeks.

Mary's shoes are indeed lovely. Rumored to be good for 3 RWHP.

That is too funny! I ended up getting reservations at the Fairfield Inn for the 23rd - 28th. Isn't that across the street from where you guys are staying? Is Fairfield a good place to stay?

When you exit off of I65 Hampton and Baymont are on one side of I65 and Fairfield is across the over pass on the other side.
