I will have had my C7 for 2 years this October and I absolutely love it! I just recently went on a 1600-mile round trip and I have to say it's the best traveling vehicle I've ever driven - I was very pleasantly surprised.

But, I've never been to Carlisle and I'm only 50 miles away. I just got an email from Mike Furman encouraging all of his customers to go and I've heard that it's a great event.

My schedule will only allow me to go on Friday but I know nothing. If I click on the link for a fun pass it says they're sold out. Should I not worry about trying to get on the fun field or would I be able to purchase a pass when I get there? If I can't get a fun pass, what's my next best option? Would I have to park with the other non-corvettes? I wouldn't want to be embarrassed haha.

Thanks!

I believe just the reserved fun field is sold out, but you can park in the corvette parking if you are only going for one day.

Thanks! So do you know, would I be able to just drive gate 1 and pay at the gate? Or would I need to go elsewhere? I see gate 1 on their very detailed event map and I see how there's general corvette parking for Friday and Sunday (it looks like rows O and P?). Would that be my best bet?

For those who leave their car on the Fun Field over night, how do you get back in the next day?

you have some options here. they have one hotel in downtown carlisle, but id bet its sold out. depend were you want to stay, but you could also get one in harrisburg if you want to actually stay in a larger city, and its only 30mins away. if you want to be near carlisle you will have to look around. the corvette show is by far the biggest show now.

sounds like the fun field is sold out. i'd try calling them to see what else they have available. As far as normal tickets to get in, they still have them.

you can park inside the show for like 10 bucks, or outside for free. I like to park on G street personally and walk across to the back gate

its supper easy to get to the fair grounds off the turnpike. just get off at the carlisle exit and then head towards carlisle. that road will take you right to it. you will see a advanced auto, at that light, take a right and you will be there.

No, Fun Field is NOT sold out. Just the reserved and the VIP parking is. You can pick up a Fun Field pass at the office outside of Gate 3. Go in , register with your Corvette, and put the sticker on your windshield to park on the Fun Field. This is your best option if you're coming for more than one day.
There is Corvette only general parking at various spots on the grounds, but not on the fun field.
To find a hotel check www.choicehotels.com or one of the big sites like Expedia or Travelocity. You may not find one close, but within a half hour from the fairgrounds. We have stayed around Chambersburg and it's easy to get to and back from the grounds. It's a straight shot out I 81. About a half hour drive each way. The Super 8 Carlisle DID have a few rooms left, but that may have changed. They're only about 5 minutes away.
As for the PA turnpike, you can take the turnpike all the way into Carlisle, or get off at Blue Mountain and take the more scenic route (and save on turnpike tolls) into Carlisle. Just watch for Amish buggies and horse poo.

Here's the layout map, so you can get an idea where the general Corvette parking is, and where the fun field parking is. https://scontent.fagc1-2.fna.fbcdn.n...7f&oe=5A285249

It looks like Lance has pulled some strings with the Weather Gods for this week!

Thurs 78 - 54% humidity - 10% chance of rain
Fri 77 - 52% humidity -10% chance of rain
Sat 77 - 46% humidity - 0% chance of rain
Sun 78 - 52% humidity - 0% chance of rain

That sounds like the best forecast I've seen in years!

Stay on the turnpike. 30 is nice when you have a day when you're not in a hurry. But it's very winding and lots of stop lights, etc. Scenic, yes, but practical when you need to get somewhere ......... no.
I live not far from Bedford and even I won't take 30. Turnpike.

Can someone answer a quick question. I got my sticker for reserved fun field so I'm good. But my wife is driving a "regular" car and bringing the grandkids. She bought event passes online and printed them. Can she just go to Gate 5, park and enter there with her bar-coded passes or does she have to go to Gate 3 to pick something up there?

Another first timer, coming westbound on the Pa turnpike Saturday morning. Just can't figure out what is the best time to get there Saturday morning. I have a friend who is coming from Philly area who is going to be at that area right off the turnpike near Denver, Pa between mile marker 279-280, the cold storage place at around 8 am. Is that too late to be going there? I have a ticket.
