Default Golfers, check in.

Before you know it, the white stuff will be gone, the rains will have the roads clean and the grass will be green again . So with that in mind, I want to plan a forum golf outing. For now I just want to see who would want to play. The course would be Mahopac Golf Club, located, where else, Mahopac NY. The day of the week would depend on how many people would want to play. So if you are interested, sign on to this thread so I can get to work .

Bob,

That sounds really good. A cruise and a game of Golf. Throw in a session at the 19th Hole and there is no-one who could refuse. I used to play alot, but work takes up much of my time so I only get out maybe once or twice a year.

My secret is the 5 Iron. For some reason, no matter how long I don't play for, I seem to always be able to strike my 5 Iron? I only hit the 5 off the tee. My theory is I'd rather be 160 / 170 down the middle, then 220 in the woods!!!!! Of course my short game is for **** also but I still have fun.

Let's go for it!

I'd be in....haven't played at Mahopac in a while.

The issue there is it's a County course and difficult sometimes to get consecutive tee -times.............we coudl always splash out for Centennial (which does cheap rates at the beggining of the season)

It's a private course, so getting consecutive tee-times is not a problem .

Count me in. I use to play about 3 times a week until I started to work, but I still manage to find time.

I have a golf outing already planned for the beginning of May to Myrtle beach flying Hooters air so if anyone is interested in that let me know I am sure I can add others...

And yes the secret is a good long iron. I happen to hit my 5 iron about 220 so I really dont use woods on tight courses.....

yeah I had testing done with the purchase of my pings and my club head speed is around 115 mph which helps generate more distance. The test is great and helps make every ping somewhat of a custom made club depending on club head speed and angles.

At least we are talking about golf instead of the S word . So Bob if you are hitting your 5 iron 220 that means that you hit the 2 iron 240 . Tiger move over.

Tiger has nothing to worry about. I wish I could hit a driver anything close to him.

Actually since I went from my Blades to the I3+ my distance has dropped, but I still get the ball in the 200+ range with the 5. The real reason for the increased distance is because I close the long irons down a bit in my swing (so really a 5 is more like a 4+) and I hit the ball in the upward part of the swing (not down like you would for a short iron). With my short irons I do the opposite (open the club and hit down on the ball) so before when I use to hit my P-Wedge 120 yards now I only hit I about 100 yards. Because of this though I cannot hit anything below a 3/4 with accuracy.

So honestly it looks imprerssive when someone sees a ball flying out there and they hear it was a 5 iron, but really it is some sort of hybrid 5. It seems to work for me though so I am not changing (even after I spent all that money on lessons).

I dont think he would have a problem with that. He will just win it back on the golf course.

well he use to work as the greens keeper for Fiddlers Elbow, but that was years ago. He will shot in the 80s and I would be surprised to see a 90 or above score.

He made himself a promise that if he was over 100 ever again he would quit (though I don't believe that) and last year we played some really hard courses in Virgina beach area and from the tips he skated in with a 99. I on the other hand was 110.
