Default Whiskey, Anyone?

I know it doesn't officially start for a couple of weeks, but is anyone going this Saturday, just to hang out?

I know what you mean.

It's in Lyndhurst, just south of where Route 17 crosses Route 3, down the block from Medieval Times.

The official start of the Cruise-In is May 7.

oh I know where that is.

I use to live in Wycoff, but moved to the shore a few years back. Now with all this stuff happening in North Jersey I wish I stayed....

Yeah, but it's a trade off.

I'm sure it's better to live in tranquility down there on a daily basis, and come up here once in a while, than it is to live in this congested mess and get stuck on the GSP every time you want to go to (or come home from) the shore.

good point. There are always trade offs. I am at the shore, but all the Bennies make it impossible to get to the shore by car. Luckily I can ride my bike to Sandy Hook.

"Bennies" ???

Sandy Hook is nice when it isn't crowded - like during the week after work. When I worked in Jersey (i.e. North Jersey), I used to drive down there after work once in a while, because I had the car. I used to scoot out to Jones Beach, or up to Bear Mountain during the week, too.

Now that I commute to the city, I get home a lot later, and not having the car here is a limitation.

Yeah Sandy Hook is always crowded (well except the nude beach). I live close, but commute to the city by ferry since I work downtown it really is a great commute in and out. I did give up golf and other stuff at night though that I could do when I had a car.

Thats what we call the people that don't live here all year round.

And Bergen County is not among them? I know there's still a lot of traffic going north on the GSP past Exit 154 on a Sunday night.

Actually, I was born and raised in the Bronx, and only moved to NJ a few years ago. ("What exit?" )

We always used to go to Long Island during beach season. My genetic programming still sends me there (Jones, Robert Moses, the Hamptons, Shelter Island, Montauk). I almost never go to Jersey beaches.

That is correct.

They really killed it for bikes at the Whiskey. Everyone used to park in the Fire Lane, but that's roped off now. They didn't set up a new spot.
