skyline....rain
As of now they are calling for alot of rain fri and sat...with thunder storms in front royal on sat
This is my first time on the skyline cruise and i was wondering if the rain will really have a major effect on the cruise. I know it is nice to go and meet other vette people and have some good food and good drink, but having an enjoyable cruise is also what this about.
Any comments from those that have been on this cruise in the past would be appreciated.
thanks

Doug,
I've seen a lot of weather reports that call for rain the day of an event and when the day comes the weather is great or at least not raining.
GOD loves Vettes! It won't rain or at least not much

I believe there is a Wax out there that will assist in preventing the body of the car from melting......I forget the name at this current time....but I am sure if you check the other forums you will find it.
Good Luck and Godspeed!!!!!!!

Doesn't rain void your warranty?
I hope you are honest to the next buyer of your car and tell them that your car was driven in the rain!
I would **never** buy car that has seen rain!!!

Will you have a terrible time? If you spend the entire time worrying about your car melting -- then no, you won't have a good time. If you want to go out, meet some fellow Zaino-dorks, do it!

Two years ago there was a weather system that stopped raining but socked in the mountain top. If you go to the regional event pictures for that cruise you can see how foggy it was, visibility less than 100 feet at times. We went anyway and had a good time. Although some of us dropped down off the mountain and drove back up the valley on Rt 340, I returned through the fog all the way.
It is more fun for some people on a beautiful sunny day where we can all chat everywhere we stop. It is still fun to get together down at Brookside, and we still run Rt 211 at the max speed we can stand. If you haven't been there before you will want to come back after the first time, rain or shine.
Rain keeps the show cars away, mostly the really great C1 and C2 cars in the area, and I don't blame those owners at all. C4s and C5s can handle anything the weather throws at us. Bring along a quick detail kit to take care of any mess from morning drizzle and you'll be fine.

Car is going in the shop shortly......bushings, shocks, all u joints, alignments, water pump, etc etc....oh and a good Zaino-ing!
BTW My car isn't even garaged!!!!!!!!! Oh no!
Here's what we had two years ago. We still had a great time.
It won't be this bad, it will only be late afternoon thunderstorms.
I just checked weather.com for Saturday. T-showers, 40% precipitation. No problem.

You NYers are tough
Football asked a valid question and has come to previous events that rain was in the forecast. All he wanted to know was if the rain would ruin this weekend. The smartbutt comments are uncalled for
May the sun shine in VA and rain and hail happen in NY this weekend
