Pulled into a county park in Morris county this weekend. Two LEOs are standing at the entrance. They wave me to stop. Wife is driving. I thinking they are going to ask if I need help finding my way around the park. We weren't speeding, inspection and registration up to date blah blah. The cop goes, 'Where's your front lincense plate?'. So I gave him the stock answer all you guys recommend.. The ole ,"we were taking picture of the vette yesterday and I forgot to put the plate back on'. I told him it's in the trunk. He goes, 'OK. So when you get home you're going to put that plate on right?". I go, 'of course'. He smiles and lets me go! Meanwhile, his partner has that sh@t eating "you're full of BS" look but he's also smiling! Two cool dudes! No harm, no foul..
But you were "really taking pictures of the vette yesterday, right??"
lol
I hope I don't have that problem when I start driving again ... I have a 68 and a custom hood, and don't even know if it has an area for the plate! As long as I don't uncap the exhaust again, I should be fine ::evil grin knowing I will uncap it fairly soon::

Kosta - I'm in Wyckoff nearby where you are in Paramus. Is this a local mechanic that you've found in Bergen County that you're happy with? I see you have a '68 - I'm sure he could deal with my '67, even though mine doesn't have the stock engine/carb (has a stroker w/ Holley 650).
