Default 1st time at E-town

hey folks, not really a drag racer, I still run on F1's. But anyway first time at etown yesterday,(red 02 Zo6 w/black stripes) ran a 13.5-hit the rev limiter 2nd & 3rd-2.4 60', 2nd run-13.1 revlimiter 1st-2.2 60', 3rd run-13.0 spun all the way from 1st -2nd, 2.2 60', 4th run leave pretty good 12.87, 2.0 60'. So i dial in at 13.0, next run 60'-2.0 and run a 12.85 and get eliminated. It was fun and can't wait to do it again. I do have anovice question... after i got to the end of the track my clutch felt real low or soft, should i get it looked at. On the way home, it felt fine and i cruised the backway, stopping in the middle of the road and practicing launches, it didn't get soft again

nice improvement thru the day.
that clutch feel is a common problem with z06 or modded ls1 cars.
try some searches.
depending on how much you race/rev the car will determine your corrective action.
ex. don't race of see 6000+ rpm's much then its not a problem. mod the car and get into racing you must upgrade drivetrain to keep up with power and higher RPM's.
I worked that show at E-town yesterday.

Thanks, i appreciate the reply, the mods are boltons-headers,X-pipe,cats. I've only been to Atco 4-5 times and E-town once. Not looking to do cam or S/C. Just wondering about the clutch. PS--Thanks for working the show, great job.

George, it was nice talking to you yesterday. I had the black Z with the stripes. I get the clutch annoyance every once in a while when I jump on it. Although, I do need a new clutch pretty bad, as the cam and juice have taken its toll rather quickly. Anyways, just thought I'd say hi.

no, I didnt win anything. It really wasnt "show ready". Under the hood was real dirty and so was the trunk. Thats why I left it closed for the show, but when I was being judged they asked me to open it up. I havent seen too many pics of black Z's with the CE stripes, but Im sure there are quite a few. Ive had mine on for a while, 9 months or so, and I think its a love it/hate it type of thing. Glad you got home ok. Ironic that the day after I tell you Im not on here much, Ive already posted twice. Keep in touch and good luck with the Z.
