Default speeding ticket

Hey guys I just got a ticket today on rt. 24 in Tiverton for doing 70 in a 50. I know what a dumbass. Anyways long story short. I'm curious, the trooper wrote me up for doing 60 and told me that i shouldn't have a problem with the ticket if I got to court. Do they look at the actual speed or the observered speed. I was talking to someone today and was told that if it's over 14 over it doesn't matter and I'll still have to pay the fine. Just looking for some opinions on this one.

Oh, oh. You mean they have troopers on 24? When I come up to visit my folks in MA from NJ, I always take 24 and love it because I can open my cars up --if nobody's on the road. (FYI, it doesn't take long to get a C6Z up to 155). I guess I'll have to be more careful and make sure the Valentine's on full alert.

go to court and beg for mercy. If they like you they will drop it to a non-moving violation.

Dont count on it being dropped. More than likely the Trooper will be there.

It's better to just pay whatever fine they impose on you as long as there are no points involved.

When I went to my court date last year, the Trooper was not there. However, they are on call, so if you plead not guilty the call in the trooper and make you wait
