Hi guys, did any forum members enter or visit our show at Bob Bell yesterday? I believe we had 58 cars and about 35 of them were inside. It only spit rain for seconds and the day was just cloudy. I thought it was a good turn out considering the clouds. It was nice to see people you haven't seen since last fall.I didn't enter my cars because I don't do judged shows but I was a judge. The corvette season is upon us!
I dropped by for about an hour. I was actually surprised at the good turnout. Some very nice cars there.
I just bought my first Vette, and I was thinking of joining some local group. Can you give me the rundown on the differences between the local enthusiasts groups? Looks like Freestate is closest to me, but I can't tell very much from their website what they do, other than some OC event. I picked up a brochure re: your group, and liked the variety of events you have. Its just that Belair is pretty far away. I'm in Howard County. Do all the clubs run rallys and autocrosses? Do they ever pitch in for a track day?
Could not make it after all since I had to take my son back to College Park since spring break was over. Glad the weather turned out since the weatherman screwed up like usual. Hope to see you @ the East Point Show.

Since Freestate is alot closer to you, I would highly recommend that club. I know a handful of members, including the past and present Governors, and they are really nice people. Over the last few years, I have got to hang out with them at Md/pa car shows. Of course, they do an excellent job at Ocean City, but they do alot of other activities too. So just go to a meeting and decide for yourself. Talk to Jeff Weiner, the Governor, and tell him I sent you. Sorry I didn't get to meet you at the show. My cars were parked outside, facing the street; spiral gray with red int. and mag red (the hood was up most of the time).Good Luck. Doug

Sorry you didn't make it but you had something a little more important to do. I am working the day of the Eastpoint show but they are having an all Chevy show on July 23 (rain date 30) at Jerry's Chevrolet of 695 at Perring parkway and Joppa rd. Hope to see you there. Doug
I came by for a little while. Saw the Doo-Wop-Mobile in the parking lot looking like a show winner itself. I must say there were some truly beautiful cars there.
Thanks for the input. I'm glad to hear that Freestate does more than the OC show. You couldn't tell from just looking at their website. I'll be sure to check them out.
Yeah, I recognize your car from your avatar, and remember checking it out. Very nice. I was wondering why it wasn't in the show.

I don't do judged shows and actually I think they are kinda dumb, but I'm there to support my club. I go to as many fun shows as I can, when not working. Hope you make a meeting this month at Freestate and let us know what you think.
I was there as well, but the car (with it's busted up front bumper) sat with the non-judged. My daughter loved the new Z06's. That's my girl! Greg, I will call you tomorrow re: other details.

Thanks for the heads up Doug. Eastpoint Show is nice since it is on a Saturday but the show @ Jerry's sounds great. Hope to make it.

Freestate has its monthly meeting the first Friday of every month at 7:30 pm at the Knights of Columbus building in Catonsville (off of rt 144)
Come on by - it is this Friday!
Our club is doing a Summit Point Raceway track day coming up....
Doug - I stopped by the show too, but I had my Jeep due to the imposing clouds. It was a good turn out considering!

Yes, some great shows and on the road tours. First Corvette Show is May 21st at The Cracked Claw Restaurant of Ijamsville,MD. They have a huge parking lot and are always good to us. As a matter of fact...ALL Corvette's are welcome.
Check out the May or June issue of Frederick magazine. They are doing a spread on our Corvette Club. They took a photo of about 30 of our Corvettes a few weeks back at the Frederick Airport with a Jet in the background. Then they did some individual shots and interviews.
Mike
I'll be sure to make it. Hope to see you there. I'll be the guy in the red vette.
