Ocean City Md. vacation
My wife wants to visit Ocean City in the middle of July. I would like a hotel on the beach, where would be a good place to stay?

Want the best of the best and absolutely 1st class accommodations with concierge service and rooms with marble tile floors and jacuzzi tub? This is the place. It's a little pricey but this is far enough North on the boardwalk that you're away from the riff raff, but still close enough that you can walk to anything. Anywhere from 10th to 27th streets I would consider to be "good" if you're looking for lots of activities, bars, nightlife, etc.

edit: btw, stayed here tons of times, and would highly highly recommend it. The "Commander" hotel is also nearby, but isn't quite the 1st class hotel of the above. Interesting for a Holiday Inn, eh? Gotta check it out!

Here is a really nice place, mid priced, rooms are fabulous. In-House food wasn't great though.

BTW remember in that town you cannot have a drink in your hand and set foot on a public street, or you get arrested - yes handcuffed and carried off.
I've been there for the spring car cruise the last few years (thousands and thousands of cars) and the cops are absolutely brutal

Cheaper in the long run than a hotel. Two bedroom condos, on the beach, usually go for about $1200/wk. Oceanblock units are cheaper, and bayside are cheaper still. All depends on what your preferences are. We're going down July 15-21.
