Have had Geico for about 4 years. Good price and I have acutally had great service. My '99 coupe was totalled in a flood last summer and I got a quick and fair payout on the total loss. As Steven indicated NJM is apparently pretty cheap too, but I think you need to have a really good driving record. Not sure abour Amex....
heard NJM is super quick to drop you tho. Granted i havent had a blemish in i cant remember, but.............
Not true, just the opposite, but it is hard to get in. In addition to you and family members in your household having good driving records for the past 3 years and I think be at least 25 years old, your employer needs to be a member of NJBIA.
To be eligible to apply for a policy with New Jersey Manufacturers Insurance Company, the individual must meet criteria involving NJBIA membership or State employment. If you are uncertain whether your employer is a member of NJBIA, contact your employer's personnel office.
my current employer MAY be a member, no ones sure, those people here have NJM and got the insurance while employed here, so perhaps. I wonder if I call, if NJM can just tell yes or no, you are or are not eligible.
I switched to geico about a year ago. My car got rearended, $9800 later, car was fixed with new parts at the shop of my choice, mods to the exterior were paid for, and my deductible was refunded in full./plus I picked up some cash cause i wired the body shop owners jacuzzi

I have no claims experience with them, but I just went over to them from Allstate. I was paying over 3 grand for 2 cars (my Vette and my rust bucket) for 6 months. For the same coverage, GEICO wants less than $900. I also have a friend who just went from Allstate to Geico (in New York).
Before Allstate, I had Sneed Robinson and Gerber for my Vettes. This past February, I traded my 2004 in for the 2006. I went to switch the policy, and they rejected me. They said my daily driver was too old. The same DD that I had when I renewed my policy in January. I had been with them for over ten years - two different Vettes, same DD, no accidents, no tickets.
Anyone use Geico in NJ? If so, comments/thoughts/anecdotes?
Contemplating moving to them as their quoted rate is almost 1/3 less then my current premium.
Thanks
I use AIG..."F" Geico!!!
I have a 2000 FRC, full coverage, I'm 38, clean record, and my policy is $710 for 6 months...Geico quote was 300 bucks over that!!!(600 bucks a year more!!??!!)
Also, they discriminate, and "penalize" you if you havent attained a certain amount of "higher education".....
IMHO, AIG is the best for me, I've had them for years, not sure if they're still writing policies in NJ though...
If you go with Geico get a share of Berkshire Hathaway stock and you get a bit of a discount. It is a good long term investment for something like a retirement fund. You can get a B share BRK-B, because if you could afford an A share you would not need to worry about shopping for car insurance
All insurance companies do crap like that, conflict or not, its a fact.
And I need insurance, so whoever is cheapest wins. They want to give radar guns to cops, I dont agree but it is what it is, I dont plan on speeding, and if i do and I get a ticket, thats on me.
Besides, I'd pay for the guns one way or the other, whether its insurance premiums or my taxes.
My wife and I just switched to Geico in February from........USAA. While USAA's customer service is top notch, they couldn't touch Geico's rates at all. We instantly saved over $800 a year by switching, and now that I have the vette, our savings are more in the $1500 a year area than what we'd have paid with USAA.
