Default bad luck this weekend

Well, I had a crappy morning! I was on my way to the York County Corvette show at the fairgrounds this morning and traveling norht on I83. I heard a rattle and turned off at the Maryland/Pa line, at a park and ride. After checking under the car and hood, I walked around the car and discovered my ACI chin spoiler about ready to fall off. The two main bolts in the center fell out and all but one on each end were gone. I can't imagine what would have happened if it came off on the highway. So I drove home on the back roads at 30 mph for 50 to 60 miles with my flashers on, and that was the longest ride ever. I made it home without the spoiler falling off but then I couldn't get in my driveway. I had to tie it up with cord and then I was able to park. Luckily I have an appointment Monday am to have my calipers repainted and stainless steel brake pad covers inserted, so they can re-install the spoiler. So I missed a good show today and I won't make the Crofton show tomorrow;I'm dissappointed, to say the least, but sh#t happens. Sorry to ramble

Just take it off for now, and go to the show tomorrow without it.

Least you aren't dead. A kid that my son went to school with died this weekend in a motorcycle accident. Things can get fixed... The beat part is
that he went to Iraq...lived through that he died 3 months later.

Default Rough weekend

Sorry to hear of your rough time Doug.
Hope tomorrow is better.
After you get the car worked on you get to come to the club meeting so Monday is looking up, right?
Glad you got home safe and with everything still attached...sort of.
Phil

I live 2 miles from that rest stop. We should have and carry the phone numbers of all the local forum members for reasons like this.

...must be a bad weekend for BACC members. I lowered my Z Friday night and the rear looks great and after reading post after post and running into a stripped bolt (previous owner must have tried) had to leave the front in the stratosphere. So, now I have a nice car that is lowerd in the rear and not in the front. Not the look that I was going for. I will get it figured out and back on the road soon.

Well, I took my car to the corvette shop this am and when I attempted to pull in the "bad" driveway, my spoiler(which was tied up but not enough), hit and took a big chunk out of it, so now it has to be filled in and repainted. So now that's the fourth time I had to repair and paint that spoiler. I hate taking it off because the car looks so naked without it, but it sure has cost me alot of money.

Hope you did not mess up your other foot when you kicked the "bad" driveway after it screwed up the spoiler. Hope it turns out for ya Doug.
