I was recently on vacation and zipping through the countryside of Maine in my '06 Vette when I got a ticket going 75 in a 55. Has anyone had any experience with reciprocity on a ticket received in Maine? I have an Indiana driver's license and am wondering if it will show up on my driving record. Let me know if anyone has had any success with tickets from out of state not showing up on a driving record. I know adjoining states almost always have reciprocity but what about states that aren't adjoining? Anyone have any good news for me?
Sorry, no good news, but no personal experiance to back up what I'm saying. I could be wrong, but nowdays, I think all states are linked together. For your sake, I hope I'm wrong...Good Luck.
If it were me, I would pay the ticket and take the on-line course to erase it from the record...it works.
Back in the mid-80s, I got away with an incredible number of speeding tickets when I had a PA license and insurance but was stationed in ME. I don't think it still works that way, my Dad recently got a ticket in KY and it hit his PA license in less than a month.
Unfortunately, no. I have a V1 and an RX65 but had neither with me.....I'm an idiot.
Hey,
I was on my HONEYMOON! last year up near Syracuse, NY and a State Trooper pulled me over, 80 in a 65, told him that it was my honeymoon, laughed, and gave me the ticket. Called a lawyer in the area and he took care of it for me. The ticket was reduced down to a parking ticket. Get a lawyer,

I don't know about Indiana, but in New York points are NOT added to your NYS driver record if you commit an out-of-state traffic violation except for violations committed in Ontario or Quebec.

try this...you have nothing to lose....(except 5.00).
pay the ticket but pay 5.00 over the amount due. then the township will issue you a check for the 5.00 because you over paid. toss the check and dont cash it. because you didnt cash it, the transaction never goes through so the point system (2points) never gets recorded.
township is still happy they got paid.

Just spoke to a lawyer. At $150 an hour, she said I'm looking at approx. $750.....not good. I don't think it's worth that much to avoid points. I guess I'll just pay the $215 for the ticket and keep my fingers crossed that it doesn't show up. And maybe just for kicks I'll try the overpayment thing. Thanks all.....I'll keep you posted.

I got a ticket in NC which is linked to NY (unbeknown-st to me) I ignored it until a nasty letter arrived informing me that my NY licence will be suspended. The ticket did not show up on my license however, so no points or insurance ramification. I think this is true of all out of state tickets.
I think Nevada is the only state that does not share any ticket (speeding) with any other state. I knew a guy that specifically went to Nevada to get a Nevada drivers license eventhough he lived in CT. He used to get dozens of speeding tickets when he had a CT license. When he got the Nevada. CT cops didn't bother giving him a ticket.

$150 an hour for a speeding ticket? talk about ROBBING you. I have a friend who takes care of mine for $150 TOTAL. Go to court & he has a talk with the prosecuter, plead guilty to blocking traffic pay fine never goes on your driving record.
I'd rather pay a lawyer & keep my license clean. Just by chance you next week you may pass a red light (on yellow of course) fail to signal when turning and have your seat belt off, NOW you might just have compounded a problem. Insurance goes up $500 (multiply by next 7 years) or maybe through you into an assigned risk pool, up perhaps $2000 year, do the math. I'd find a local lawyer were the ticket was issued. Sometime much cheaper in the long run. I pay $1200 for my 04 now.. not into $4-5 grand insurance. Just my 2 cents
