I may be getting a very good job offer in Manhattan. I live in the Danbury area now, self-employed, and have a meeting space in Manhattan.
I would rather live right in the city than outside of it, but it looks like that may not be an option.
I want to have at least one car. I am a car guy, I hate public transportation, and I am just stubborn about that.
I guess there really aren't any covered parking options in apartments in Manhattan, huh? I don't feel comfortable parking the Vette on the street at all and it's rather expensive to boot.
Maybe Fort Lee or even White Plains will be a better option to move to...

There are tons of garages all around the city.......almost all of them underground. Expect to pay about $300 - $500 monthly.

I live in the town next to Fort Lee, almost everyone takes mass transit if they work in the city.
There are park & ride areas. One option is the 'Ferry', its about 5 quick miles from Fort Lee, you pay $9.00 to park and about $7.50 each way on the Ferry. The Ferry lands in NY near the Jacob Javits center on the bottom of 34th street. Its only a 5 minute ride. They have free buses from there.
I've seen Porches, Vettes and Mercedes in that lot, it looks safe.
BTW, nobody parks a Corvette on the streets of Manhatten, unless its a leased beater.

Yep, if you can pay, u can get parking.
If he's working in the city... taking a bus or train will probably get him around faster locally... or get a taxi.
Looking for parking spaces will take forever and parking in garages and constantly handing over your keys will garauntee a scratch or a ding.
I park 2 cars (was 3 a week ago) in an underground garage near Queens Blvd for $200 per car monthly so it'll be cheaper here than in the city especially if u plan to have more than one car... motorcycles are $100 monthly.
I've been working in the city for 10 years, but won't drive in it. I get around fastest walking and hopping subways. The traffic is murder, you're car will get beat to hell or hit. It's just not worth it. But if you must, garage it and pay.

I do. Evenins and weekends its free I've actually had more damage done to my car in my own driveway in DC (mom backed into it) Never had a scratch put on it in NYC (between Canal and Grand) I did find a cheap covered place though, but I've moved to Detroit. Oh how I miss the streets of Manhattan. Feels like a gated community by comparison
Travel by car in NYC during the week is not recommended. Parking is expensive, traffic is terrible, and you can get around much quicker by cab or public transportation. At night and on the weekends it is 1000% better.
If you live in the city look for a parking garage in the boros it is much cheaper as noted in previous posts but more importantly it is safer. Most garages in NYC park your car for you. The problem is space is money so they park them close and move them often so you can expect to pick up more than your share of parking dings and nicks.
Parking attendants love to park Vettes as that is the only time they will drive one. Some apartment garages may be the exception but you will have to find them and expect to pay for them $400-600 a month.
