Ralph is AWESOME !!!!
OK... here is what happened today at E Town,, I lost first round.. Just a bad light & bad run.. BUT RALPH went 5 rounds vs some of the BEST racers from NJ NY or the Tri State area!!!
Biando went out in the 2nd round, Jim Harrington went out in the 3rd or 4th... Ol RALPHIE was on KILL....I dont remember all the #s but in the 3rd round his margin of victory was .0011
In the 4th rd he beat (forgot his name) but he is # 2 in Heavy pts.. Ralph had a .516 light, & the other guy dialed 12.50 & ran 12.503 & Ralph WON..Ralph WELDED him to the tree!!
Frank Maffiore (of Ask Frank First) lost in Rd 3.....Al Vanis NHRA Stock champ lost in Rd 2...
In the 5th round Ralph had a >>>>> .501<<<<< light ... and had it won, it was the semi finals and there was over 200 cars in the class, ...it was down to 4.. if he didn't break out he would have had a bye run into the FINAL ! Ralph was dialed at 11.92 ran 11.90...on the breaks..
He still won $$ in the triple digits
OH Also he (ralph) let me help change his tires, & let me carry one home in my CAR !!... He's one hellova guy, and one HELLOVA RACER !!

PS.. not to take anything away from him, but I (ME) iced his motor between rounds ... :D & got the right car too ...

But all of this is nothing........the biggest surprise, I do mean the BIGGEST !!!......was.....and get this.....Ralph was there early in the morning with the rest of the crew. All the guys were keeping it cool and low key, and .... are you ready ..... here it comes ....... THE SUN WAS OUT ALL DAY AND RALPH WAS AT THE TRACK !!!!!!!!!!! :D :D Not one cloud in the sky......a new record ...... a whole day with Ralph & no rain :D All kidding aside, Ralph, yesterday you went against the best and handled them. The guy you lost to in the finals has not been out of the top 3 or 5 in the points for the last 5 years !!!!! He also runs the same car in Super & the Friday night Jesel Top Street so he does get in his runs, and knows the track very well. You must also keep in mind, with all the previous people you raced, they were for the most part in the same class as Andrew. They race a lot and know the tree well, plus the 67 camaro you ran that was in the 10's, in case you didn't know was Mafiorie Jr. and he not only ran at Delmar representing the track in the past, his runs there averaged like .509 - .510 & two, yes two .501's. You took him out !!

Thanks JP and everyone else. Only forum members JP, Edgar and I braved it out to this event. John and i laughed that we were in WAY over our heads...and we were. We laughed that at least we would get home early.....10 hours later i remember asking John "how the hell am i still in this?" There were no Ducks at this event and i think the three of us were the only cars NOT trailered in. I've only read about the names that John and Dennis listed and these guys are obviously top of the line bracket racers. I was in awe and knew i had to be on my game or i was going home. They must have been wondering who the hell i was in the later rounds.
The car ran great...and it doesn't seem to be affected much by weather or hot laps anymore...and i'm gonna to have to get used to that. It hit a new best mph with a 117.6 and should go 118+ in cool weather, and this is a superram???
I'm also pissed at myself for blowing an easy win. I took way too much of the stripe and i didn't have to...i guess you can get brain fade at both ends of the track. That win would have put me in the final competing for a "Wally"...could you image??
The really amazing thing was that it didn't even drizzle and the car didn't break...the curse might be gone!!! Race on brothers!!!

The reason it did not rain is because Ralph has is pro-cooler compliment, the new, soon to be marketed Pro-Shade. Yes it dices, it slices, no really it was this big colorful (I don't think they make nail polishes in all those colors), half chewed, beach umbrella looking thing that he sat over the engine.

I gotta say thanks once more to JP for helping out down the stretch. they were rushing us big time trying to finish before curfew and i couldn't even get out of the car.... after 17 hours of commuting and racing, i feel like we fought in a war together!!!! And I'm still pumped!!!

Ralph, that a great performance. You were on the money all day. I'm just glade you didn't let JP set your dial. :D
I hope this shows alot of people just how competitive a Friday/Saturday racer can be. For that I'm very proud Ralph in what you did. There is very little difference between the way we race and THE BIG BUCK BRACKET RACE or even a NHRA points meet or a NATIONAL EVENT. Heck anymore there nothing more than a bracket race. So when your on your on and yesterday Ralph you were on your game and a lot of BIG NAME racers were watching you.
That is a great job, we need more racers to take a chance at the next level. Having been there at one time, I know it was alot more fun.
