Hey all, my car's getting picked up by Intercity Lines this morning, en route to NYC. Spent most of last night giving it the full Zaino treatment, full interior and engine detail, etc... I'm a little fanatical about it. Then again, aren't we all?
Looking forward to meeting everyone in the NYC area sometime soon!
Here's a few pics. The dyno photo was at A&A party. 365hp/358tq, completely stock. Runs good!
NYC, Hell's Kitchen! Will be there full time in about 10 days.
The moving truck picked up my car this a.m. It was freakin' HUGE!!!! 80ft. long, 13ft. high. There was already a sweet early/mid 60's black vette in there for a lucky customer in Kentucky.
If you guys ever need to move a car, use Intercity Lines. Their attention to detail blew me away. Can't even begin to list the subtle things that they do to prep and store, too numerous to mention, and the drivers are very proud of their work. I feel very, very comfortable with them. Pricey, but you get what you pay for.
Welcome to the East! I cant believe you giving up all year vette driving for the NE winter. In few years my dream is to move to San Diego so i can drive my car all year long.
Youll have alot of fun with our Vette runs though for sure!
Check out the coastline photo in the same directory I posted earlier. That was snapped this afternoon while having lunch at a Mexican restaurant down the street, after my car got picked up. I'm sick of this coastline and sunny year round weather! Gimme a grimy subway any day!
Also, check out the newly posted photos of the moving van. HUUUUUGE! First class operation all the way. After wrapping the car with towels along the sides and a soft cloth cover, they cover the whole thing with a plastic tarp just in case any fluids leak from cars above. My drivers name is Eric, if I remember correctly.
I thought I was overly **** about my car...well, the driver found the tiniest little blemishes and hairline scratches that I've never seen before, and easily found each of the few incredibly small blemishes that are on there. He took about 45 minutes going over every square inch to identify & document existing conditions.

Yep. Lived in NYC for a handful of years, '97-'02.
Hells Kitchen has come a long way even in that period of time. More & more gentrified. Now they call it "Clinton," but that name is ridiculous. Call it what is is! I'll be at 48th & 9th. Fun neighborhood, great restaurants, etc. My office is only a few blocks away in midtown west. The car's getting stored in an upper east side garage.

By the way, what kind of oil do you guys use? I had mine changed this morning before pick up, they put in Mobil 1 10w30. Is that viscosity ok in the winter time out there?
Also had air filter replaced, breathes nice & clean now...
Welcome to the asylum! That's one way well kept toy!
She sure is purdy! On the oil Q, I don't see why that would not be fine around here in the winter. After all unless you like salt you proly will not be out in the real sub 32* temps anyway. I still use M1 5w-30 in my C4 all yr around.
Car got delivered today back east in PA at a family member's house. I fly out & pick it up next weekend, then drive into NYC. Can't wait!

hey guys, finally got my car up into nyc last saturday!
drove thru times square around 11 pm, what a sight!
i bet i was the only corvette in nyc with california plates...
looking forward to meeting up with the nyc area folks soon.
mycar is LOVING this cold weather and 93 octane. either that, or the pavement's cold and i'm not getting any traction, because the rear tires keep lighting up and i can't take corners like i normally would.
anybody have a good recommendation for tire installers in the area? i might get some tires from tire rack or just go buy them from somewhere. would prefer recommendation from a place you've been to and have been pleased with results.

Welcome to the Jungle.....
Don't worry, we will keep you PLENTY busy.
You are about to meet some really great people.
Next Spring we will introduce you to "C5RCNG" Dave. He stores his car away for the winter and hibernates. I think I will make it my bussiness to goof on him for the rest of the winter.....Do ya hear me Dave?

From: ECS : WTF did you break now and HTF did you break it this time
I get my tires in brooklyn, east new york, of course I usually bring just the wheels down there in the back of my tahoe. I'd rather be the one jacking my car up properly than having to worry about someone else doing it.
oh and for oil I use 15w50 year round, but I kinda make twice the power you make and don't want to buy another engine yet. Hope your heat works in that car cuz as long as there ain snow on the ground (or much of it) the wolfpack is on the prowl
for instance, this saturday the 11th is one of the last corvette challenges at the dragstrip for the calendar year...
