Hey Charlie and Alex...Hope 2007 has been good to you so far. Karin and I are heading for one of the now famous LICKEM (Long Island Corvette Karting Enthusiast Membership) dinner/sleepovers . Won't be up much before noon tomorrow 
The it's off to a buddies house who is setting up a tailgate party in his yard to watch the Jets and Giants Playoff games. It's gonna be a blast..

Best way to go is to take the belt pkwy east to the sourthern state pkwy (belt turns into the sourthern state just keep left), take it out to the wantagh pkwy exit 27S. Take it to the end and continue around the traffic circle taking ocean pkwy east (may also have signs to robert moses and captree). Take ocean pkwy east to the end, go through the ticket booth and turn left into the main parking area

I left Captree about 0830 and as I was leaving there was at least a 1/2 mile line to get in in both directions!!! Tell me of another car meet where you get there before 0630 and there is still about 5 cars already there. Today has to be the biggest Captree meet ever. I think that we are going to need more Corvette guys to show up (there was only about 60 or so when I left
) because the Mustang crew is getting real big 
I was parked first in their line on the left( I think that the Mustang guys think they have dibs across from us) view
Can't wait for the pics. I'm gonna guess there will be about 700-800 cars easy. I also noticed the Porsche group is getting a nice following. If you love cars (of all kinds) this is the place to be in the tri-state area. ......

Captree today
I think 700 cars is an understatement ... I got there at about 9:15am and had to wait 20 Minutes due to the line to get in.. the place holds 700 cars.. the early crew was leaving so the later (9:00am crew could park.. seems if you add all the cars that came today would be over 1,000 when you add the people that left with the people that came after 8:30am) amazing cars today.. When we left at 11:00 people were still coming in.. ..Cars from one end to the other.. On the way home.. there was line to get out.. we cruised home and there was a parade of cars on ocean parkway..

Wow, biggest Captree ever (I would guess 800-900 cars). Got there at 7:30 and the place was already more then half full. I had to leave at 9:30 and all 3 lots were full all the way to the water 
. Must have been a 1 mile back up waiting to get in, and as I was leaving over the bridge every car going the opposite direction was a cool car. Too bad Alex, and StephenT wern't there, they always take great pictures. Hope the weather holds for another great Captree Sunday next week.

Captree was COMPLETELY JAMMED -what a showing!!
...i have NEVER seen it like that ....Its definitely worth getting up super early for this--every sort of car u can think of PLUS!!! It took me bout 1/2 hour to get in from sitting out on ocean on that line...but worth the wait as well....

Captree was COMPLETELY JAMMED -what a showing!! ...i have NEVER seen it like that ....Its definitely worth getting up super early for this--every sort of car u can think of PLUS!!! It took me bout 1/2 hour to get in from sitting out on ocean on that line...but worth the wait as well....
