Well, The Mrs. Sabarro closed her doors about 3 years ago. I would visit her every Friday.
You left out Tortonos in Coney Island = REAL Brick oven Pizza. I would eat a whole pie to myself. They do not seve slices pies only. The dough is made the night before. When the dough runs out the doors get locked.
L&B are only good for pizza, Dinners are only OK.
Rocco's Calamari (Fort Ham.Pkwy & 65th St) = Is over priced.
Lenny & Johns have good pizza, There meals are better.
Well, if you want to talk cheap eats in midtown Manhattan, for a GREAT $4 sandwich piled high with Gyro meat or chicken, fresh warm pita, and the usual quick toppings, visit the food cart at NE corner of 53rd and Ave of Americas! (it's right near my office.)
I kid you not, the line for this guy extends 30-50 people deep almost every night until midnight. If it's remotely warm out at 3 a.m., it will still be 30-50 deep, and sometimes 100 people deep.

I haven't been back to Brooklyn in several years, but if it's still there, nothing beats Brennan & Carr at Nostrand Ave. and Ave. U for the best roast beef sandwiches in the world. Nathan's in Coney Island always had the best french fries.
If you want to try Roll-N-Roaster better hurry. Rumor has it that their days are numbered. I ate there a million times since they first opened. It was the first place I knew of that put Cheese on their fries. Love that place. Turned my son onto it too. Haven't been there in a little while. Have to admit I used to go there to check out the young girls in their short brown skirts also. (A long time ago, lol).
Brennan and Carr used to have the best roast beef in the world. They opened a new place in Rockville Center a few years ago. I always say I'm going to try it but haven't gotten to it yet.
Shame is there really isn't a great food place in Brooklyn that can hold too many Vettes. Parking at R-n-R always sucked. Never put any of my cars in their lot. We would have to get there the night before. LOL.
Roll 'n Roaster is closing? Yeah, the parking always sucked. I remember now that I worked there when I was 18 bussing tables. Their food was really good.
