That's not true Tom. The DMV doesn't use spaces or the icon in their computer printouts so plates like ABC 1234/ABC1234/ABC@1234/A BC1234/ ABC12@34 are all the same plate to the DMV computers. Can you imagine the confusion if the police are looking for a certain plate number and a space or position of the icon were included!!!!!

Thanks for the clarification. I must have mistyped something when I was playing with the online tool and couldn't find what I wanted with a space, and thought it said available with the space replaced with the NY icon. Musta been my FFS (Fat Fingers Syndrome)
