ugh afternoon all.. I need some love and support.. my best friend in the whole world is sick (yes its my cat) make fun if you will but he is my baby and i learned he has hyperthyroid condition. He cant take the pill that would control it cause it affects his liver adversely so now I have to decide... do I let him suffer it out for another year or two or three.. or pay $1700+ for a 14 year old cat to get R-I131 radioactive iodone treatment to cure it and hope he lives another 4-5 years.....

Oh Kim that is a tough decision, you have to do what is right in your heart. But don't let him suffer. It may sound cruel but I went to something similar with my dog and decided to put her dog I couldn't let her suffer but for her I didn't have the option of a cure. If I had the option of the cure I would have chose that.
Kim, if you want to talk let me know.

Vet Dr's are worse than car finance managers, they milk 3 to 4 grand out of pets owners in tests and then say, theres nothing they can do, stop letting the cat suffer in pain, youre being selfish .......thats my view

Oh Kim that is a hard decision. THere is no way to shove the pill down the cat's throat? I had to make that decision with my cat a few years back and she suffered. Sometimes you have to do what is in the best interest of your pet and not you. Oh Kim we are with you with whatever decision you make

thats just it, he technically isnt suffering now.. it will kill him if left untreated but it will take a matter or time as in a year or more.. he will just keep losing weight until he dies.. it really isnt making his daily life bad at all.. so the ? is do I let him die naturally or try to prolong his life with this r.i. treatment?

Just because ALL car finance managers are the same, doesn't mean that all Vet's are the same. Just like people dr.s, there are good one's and bad one's and sure that Kim will take that into consideration when she makes her desicion .......................

i was giving him the pill but he cant take it anymore cause it was making his liver enzymes high which was one of the side effects. so r.i therapy is the only option...
my mado is, in stead of bringing myself up to everyones level, I just bring everyone down to my level....... I do bring the worse out of everyone
Just every once in a while it feels good to take a walk on the wild side.
It's just that time for me...little restless lately but it will pass. I'm just visiting

Kim if you think that the therapy will help your cat then do it. Listen if it was your child or sibling or parent you would go and spend $1700 without blinking an eye. If it will help your cat then do it. Its very difficult watching them waste away and since he is not sick enough to be put down now you are gonna have to wait until he is which will be harder because you'll be saying to yourself "what if I did give him the treatment"
