Default OPTI time

Headed out to the garage NOW to tear things down in preparation of installing a new opti due in at 11AM tomorrow.

So if anyone wants to stop by to cheer me on this afternoon or tomorrow come on over.

Beer and cokes are stocked up in the fridge

Damm, have to fly out to Minnesota tomorrow. I would love to stop by and give you a hand just to refresh my memory on those. Haven't dealt with one for a few years. Have fun, might see you next week at Ridley (if your done by then)

Although not physically on site, in spirit I'll join in the cheering. I'll even toss in a laugh or two should I sense a scraped knuckle or other common minor injury.

Good luck.

I feel for you. My car died in the middle of a traffic jam in friday rush hour ,right before the Memorial Day weekend last year. That is one of the reasons I have a C5 now. Anyway, good luck with your install.

Yes it is, ZR1s don't have an Opti, FYI

Mine hasn't died, just running like crap. Thoughts of a C6 have been popping in my head

Less of a pain than the first time, I just hope that's my problem

I got the coolant all flushed and ready for a new fill, water pump is off, harmonic balancer is off, all the wire connections are off, 3 bolts tomorrow and reverse the proceedure. Only thing that may slow me down is I may pull the timing cover and put new seals on it

I knew that, just wanted to make sure you were aware of it before you tried it on the ZR1

hope you picked up the MSD vs the delco, replaced one over the winter on my buddy's 94 Z28 which was the older style non-vented deal and the msd was worlds ahead in build quality, sealing, ball bearing vs bushings, no weather pack plug into the unit, but a hardline with a connector on top of the manifold instead, and vacuum lines passing through to draw out moisture. Was 500 vs 400 on summit but well worth it once I held them next to each other. (especially since the car was on its 4th in 65K miles)

Sorry to hear that. That really sucks. I hope you figure it out. A C6 will definitely fix the problem, I will even guarantee it.

You need a nice old Stingray with good ol HEI ignition. And as luck has it I know where you can get one of the nicest ones around.

Going to do a leak down test first to make sure it's nothing internal

That may solve the problem and the though crossed my mind
But it doesn't fix the Ruby
