Open comp at E-town what a joke.
As he all told us a 1000 time Panuzzo was all geared up to run open comp yesterday at e-town GM high Tech.
Well first time run he stages deep get set for a pro tee and guess what?? A full tree. John then asked what was going on , this class has always had a pro tree. Its sort of the equalizer, If your good on a pro tree you can get a bid advantage.
Well seems they left the words "pro tree" off the flyer they advertized so the decided not to run it that way.
So the ran full tree with a .2 brakeout. How stupid is that.
So lets say you qualify at 12.00 your can run 11.80. So 11.80 is your dial but in the next round if you run 11.80 your new dial is really 11.60. .2 breakout. got it, It's just a STUPID way to race.

John
They really blew that one.. At least they used to have ONE class with a pro tree. Now only the MUSTANG races have a pro tree..
Next year if there is NO pro tree, I'll race in Slick class...!
BTW there were almost 20 cars in the class, & 2 others besides me left on the first BULB ! :( so it wasn't only me who thought it was supposed to be a pro tree..

i never understood that 2 tenth breakout. If they want use qualifying times, then fine...but 2 tenths!!! it just makes the whole thing hokey if you ask me. The protree was appealing and now they don't even have that.
Honestly tho, has anyone here ever backed up the track to get another time trial...JP you da man. How'd that clinic go anyway...lol

The dial stayed the same for all the passes. I qualified @ 10.95, dial was 10.75 for the 3 rounds that I ran. Ran 10.80, 10.77 in the first 2 rounds, no change of dial-in.
They really did set it up so that you needed to sandbag in qualifying.

John,
that was the first time that I have seen a car take off for about 50', go in reverse past the start line, and start yelling at the officials, kind of humorous to watch. Also a first to see a guy on a bike fall off. And another first was watching the guy go thru the burnout box, and keep going down the track, without stopping for the lights :smash:

And don't forget the car that went a 10.28 ON FIRE for the whole length of the track! Flames were shooting out the bottom of the car. I have seen John Force do that, but never a street car.
I left at 3 PM when some guy puke antifreeze all over the place. Had to go to a birthday party so never even made it to first round. What a cluster f###.
