I will be heading up for the EMRA Time Trial Friday. I will not be taking the Z16, but will be using up my track prepped SHO.

One more Time Trial, race school, and then a 1 hour enduro event to finish up the car early next year.

Tom,

I'll be up there for my first TT event. Looking forward to it, but will have to take it a little easy as it's my weekend cruiser mobile. I'll be in a TR 91 Coupe w/Delawhere plates.

I'd love to get on the track. What are the requirements/rules? What does it cost? Do I need to be with a club? Obviously I've never been on one so any info would help. Let me know

Cyclonite,

Sorry I did not see your reply before the event. My car failed inspection for the first time in 38 track days (Ford SHO). It was a good find and it was something I did not catch on my own.

I am glad it was only a 2.5 hour drive from NJ instead of a 12 hour drive to Road Atlanta this year and then finding the problem.

My neighbor had this white 930 out in the white run group and he said it was a little nuts out in the run group. I missed the miata flipping on the Time Trial (this was after he hit a corvette on the passenger door during the second 20 minute run, I did not see it, but that is what someone said).

I will have to wait till next year to get out for another EMRA Time Trial.

I saw a couple Corvettes and Z06's, but never got a chance to talk to them about starting to prep my Z16 for track days. Not sure if I would run the Z06 with this group. Too many passes and no pass signals + some bumping = a little more risky than a normal HPDE.

Tom,
It took me about 6 hours to get there. Traffic was packed up around NYC, and mapquest gave me questionable directions...

I was a student this time, so I took it pretty easy. I ran it hard a couple of laps in practice, too hard once! I spun out into the grass at the end of the main straight away

During the TT, some buttnugget in a EVO or something (who was supposed to be only a couple seconds faster than me) got right on my butt halfway through the first hot lap, and then passed on the straight. I took it kind of easy after that and slowed before I got to the checkered flag, so my time was quite slow.

After the TT's were done, we hit the track one more time, and I ran it pretty hard...to the limits of the hard street tires I had anyway! And about 15 minutes into it I started getting some pretty bad brake fade, so I came in. Didn't want to end up like the Miata !!!

I've got to find a way to put the lap belts in and still keep the OEM belts. The inside one is easy enough, but the outboard straps...gonna take some ingenuity. There's no room down there with the seat!

Take care,
Tim
