With the forecast for snow and rain tonight I
figured I will get the car snugged up. So today I cleaned
up the car interior and exterior, weatherstripping,
removed the battery and covered her up nicea nice
and got her all settled into the garage.
this really suc's....................
Why put it away, winters are not that bad around here.
I keep mine inside only when there is salt on the road or bad weather. But with some of the winters we have been having in the tri-state metro are the past few years I have kept it in side for about a total of 8 weeks on and of out of the year due to snow and salty roads.
I just don't understand this putting it way move in the NE. Maybe if you are in the mountains but suburbia along the east coast sees maybe 2 - 3 weeks of weather you wouldn't want your vette out in. The rest of the winter is great for cruising
I do not put mine up for the winter. I do not drive her if there is salt on the roads but other than that I drive her as much as possible. I get her out AT LEAST one weekend a month. Let me tell you it is what keeps me sane when it is soo cold out.
I Hate cold weather

And if it sees salty roads/slush, I hook a hose up to the water heater and wash the underside in the driveway.

Why do that? There's plenty of nice days in the Winter when it's great to take the 'Vette out for a cruise. Also, remember last year.....60-65+ degrees over Christmas & New Year's week. We cruised down to the Jersey Shore & had a ball at Sandy Hook Park & along the 'boards' down by Belmar!
Here in the mountains of northcentral Pa I am looking out my living room window watching it snow right now. Snowed yesterday and the salt trucks were out in full force. I guess that I could move but with four grandchildren living in this area rules that out. Sooo, my car is in the heated garage until spring. I will go out and do some mods to it over the winter and give it the tlc that it deserves. I'll live and so will the car.

Why let the calendar dictate whether you drive the car or not. I've been driving them year round for 37 years with no problems. As long as the roads are clear and dry I drive. Snow, salt and rain I don't. There are plenty of opportunities to drive them in the winter. It's better for the car and better for me
it's a little early to worry about storage. when the snow hits(if and when) then i'll do it, until the roads clear a little then i'll drive it here and there.
OK i had a change of heart
before even reading the posts you guys gave me i was thinking "
I must be a mo mo, I can't not drive the vette for months"
