Default Next years OCC run

Do people still plan on going with what happened? For those that don't know, Vinnie left OCC and out of disrespect from Paul Sr. quoted "I've been in business for 30 years and people can be replaced". Furthermore, Cody Connelly, Paul Jr.'s (nephew?) was supposed to replace Vinnie... Found out he left, shortly there-after, to start http://www.vforcecustoms.com/ with Vinnie.

I'm sure alot of the fanbase has been lost.

We could always go visit them since their address shows they are on route 17k upstate.

Yeah, I read about that. I was hoping to time the 08 cruise with the opening of their new World Headquarters. At least that way, they would be guaranteed to be there. Twice already, I've done everything possible to have someone greet us like the first year we had the OCC Run and they've been no shows.

We could always visit the Harley plant instead this year. Of course, that's in PA. We'll play it by ear as the spring gets here. As UT said though, the run is about us being together, having fun and carving up some mountain roads.

Like UT said ............

Bear Mtn., the scenery, the roads, the people, getting lost

That's what it is all about ....

Call it the 17K Run

Who cares about OCC ............

As of now, I'm still planning to go ahead with plans to visit the new world headquarters. But we can always change the final destination. We'll see what happens as the new year progresses. As long as we all come together, it really doesn't matter where our final destination will be.

As for the OCC, The biggest problem with reality shows is that the media spotlight just heightens any normal tensions among people that spring up in a work environment and ends up destroying the rep of everyone who participates in one. Just look what happened with Boyd Coddington, the guys from Unique Whips, West Coast Customs (from Pimp my ride and now their new show). It's really a bad business move in the longrun.

You can answer over in the bar so's we're following the rules, but what did happen at Unique? Their "new" episodes are from a couple of years ago. Did Reme finally call it quits?

I will never forget comimg upon you, Jessica (Corvette Model Winner)and Undertaker ( who was sitting in a chair someone threw out) waiting for everyone on RT.17K. Half the cars got lost on a traffic circle, and the other half found another way to OCC.
I love these trips.

I know for the last two years I drove 3 hours to see a closed shop and this past year Jessica was the HUGE surprise for all

... My vote would be that we could all run together to the Harley plant and this year we might be able to get some more of the PA. people involved.

We'll just have to call it something other then Orange County Chopper (OCC) run.

Two years ago Mike and I put together a fall foliage cruise for the 50th Registry. We tried very hard to get to tour the factory and never got any reply from anyone at OCC. Just by chance one of the Registry members son was dating someone who works for them. We got a tour of the shop but no one was there from the show.

SLIDESHOW

about 1/4 of the way into the slide show you see The OCC store then the Shop.

The Harley factory sounds like a lot of fun

Considering how much fame...and fortune OCC has garnered, it's no wonder they wouldn't bother with us. But I wouldn't hold it against them. A Harley run would be cool.

Yeah, that was pretty stupid.. How do these guys have a clothing line and haven't even built one car or bike yet? What does it represent except for money in Vinnie's pocket? Talk about putting the cart before the horse.

How do you think OCC made the bulk of their money? Supposedly 60 or 70% of their earnings is clothing and licensing. Their customer level bikes are average at best, and grossly overpriced.

Been on the tour twice now. Tour probably takes an hour or so then it could be off to Hooters for lunch. I'm a Pa guy that would be happy to join in with you guys/gals.

OCC run was fun. It was great to meet up at Bear Mountain, and the mini cruise around was cool until we got back on course . My son and I were impressed with the views from along the river too. The only downer, was getting to OCC, and not seeing any of the crew. Considering we had so many vettes there, it would have made sense that it might have been a cool photo op, and small segment in one of their shows. However, from what I've heard , all they are intersted in is $$$$, and they charge alot for them to sign something for you at bike shows.
As Linda ( btw cute pic of sparkie) said, it was all about everyone getting together for a day on the road, so let's keep some semblence of this together. How about a Bear Mountain meeting point, and a cruise along the river further up north, or maybe find a spot, and have a huge BBQ party?
Harley plant tour would be a pretty cool separate event too if we could arrange a Sat tour.
