As the title says I am a new vette owner and I need help. I need a Vette Vet(pardon the pun) to show me how to properly wash the car etc. I am in Laurel but can drive anywhere in the area for help. I will buy the stuff and the food/refreshments. I just don't want to mess the car up and I hate it being dirty.

I don't know about you guys but I am excited. The weather is getting warm I have got my first Vette and it seems there are a lot of good folks that enjoy this passion around me. Does it get any better??????

Welcome aboard ranger! There's quite a few of us in the same hood - Laurel; Columbia; DC; Annapolis; Ellicott City, etc. As for the car washing tips, just wash it like you would any other car, EXCEPT, no automatic car washes, no dish washing detergent (car washing liquids only), separate wash cloth for body and wheels/tires, dry with the Absorber (synthetic chammois and optional leaf blower for blowing excess water out of the mirrors, tail lights, and other nooks and crannies.
Keep an eyeout for Andy's (FLATOUT) emails on Corvette gatherings in the area. Be sure to mark your calendar for the largest Corvette event of the year: Corvettes@Carlisle August 22-24, 2008 (only about 2 hours away and thousands of Corvettes from all over the country - a real blast!).
Brian and Andy are the two closest to you and they are both AWESOME guys!!!!! If they are not available feel free to PM me and I will gladly help you out!!!! Perhaps a mod day at someone's house is in order.......

Welcome aboard. This place is great for finding help with your car. I received a ton of help with my purchase from the CF. As a result, I met a guy on here who had some water stains on this hood from a garage in NYC. He had just moved from Calif. Needed a place to get his Z06 back in order. I let him use my garage, cleaning stuff (Menzerna et al.) and my polisher.
Enjoy the car and Enjoy the folks that use the Forum, they are great poeple!!
