Default Detailing for a Cause

The days are getting shorter, the holidays are around the corner, and I am getting really busy doing winter prep details. Since so many of you are calling to have your cars done, I wanted to follow in the footsteps of so many other vendors and tuners and pay it forward for the less fortunate.

For the next 4 weeks or so, I will be discounting and donating a portion of the winter prep detail in your forum name to the St Judes Children's Hospital. The winter prep detail includes:

Hand Wash
Chemical Clean and Polish
Sealant or Wax
Wheel Sealant
UV Tire Protectant
Dashboard, Doors and Seats treated with UV Protectant/Condtioner

The cost is $150 (usually $175), $20 will be donated to St Judes, and the work can be performed at your location, or mine, whichever is easier for you. This special applies to any car, not just your Corvette. The special does not include SUVs, MiniVans, or Trucks. Travel is limited to the LI area only.

Here are some of the forum members cars I have done:

Mine

HazChris

Bob from Sunshine Tree

AndyMpd

SpinMonster

C5 Chick

Bobby O

C6Coupe

Par34n5

And a few others:

One of the odd things I found with having this detailing done was that the car didnt allow dirt to stick to it after it had the polymer treatments. It seems the things that normally stick to the car would then only act as a dust and blow off the car without wiping it. Since the car was first detailed the frequency of my washes fell from nearly daily to monthly and people always ask if the car was just washed. I think to myself that it has been weeks since it was detailed and delivered to my new colorado home and I wash when it gets dirty. So far that hasnt been the case....Its been nearly 3 months.

So for anyone thinking this is just a glorified wash and wax, it isnt. Waxes flake off starting the day you put it on and a polymer bonds to the paint. Some of the products are Zaino but others are more exotic. I was there for the the first detail job which took 4 1/2 hours and the guy was having quite the workout. Once I saw it done, I knew what he does cant be duplicated unless you have the machine he uses (professional application buffing wheel...ect) and if used wrong it would go through the paint. Like I said, you cant do this yourself. If you have dead paint with swirl marks (look like little spider webs in the paint in sunlight) it will look pretty much brand new when its done. Any scratches that are able to be removed will be. They are measured and if they arent through, they wont be there when you come back.

Like I said it isnt some glorified wash and wax. For the compounding alone its a great price and since St Judes is in the equation, you may as well help out while getting the best deal you can on this work.

Wow, wish you could find it in your heart to make a "trek" to South Ozone Park Queens, right off the Belt Parkway, 5 minutes from JFK airport as I'd love to have mine done while I'm at work. The car's in the pictures look awesome!!!

Amazing...You get a great looking car...and he gives some of the profits to CHARITY!

The only problem is that I'm snow blinded by all those shiny cars!

It's been a while, but I've seen Craig's car and it was amazing. This looks like a great deal for someone looking to have an incredible detail job done on their car. I am very particular, and I wouldn't hesitate to have him do my car.

It depends on the rims. If they are clear coated, polished aluminum, no sorry. Id have to see them up close to know for sure. You can come out to the shop, but it is in Pt Jefferson, which would be quite a ride...although I've had people come down form CT on the ferry and have lunch and walk around the village while I work on their cars.

Thank you for all the support, compliments and phone calls...it's been overwhelming! I'm sorry I didn't have the time to get back to everyone today. If you didn't hear from me, I will be back in touch by tomorrow. I was caught up doing a detail today on a Lexus that was bought in Aug of 2007 and hasn't been washed or cleaned since. Well, 6 hours later, we have a new car again....sorry the pics are a little dingy...the sun wasn't cooperating today...the car is a beautiful white pearl color that clouds just don't show.

Some befores and afters:

Armpit and deodorant stains....nice...

Finally, something you are proud to sit in again...
