Hi all I need a few pieces of Fabricated so I can Nickel plate them. Anyone have a source? The pieces I have now are aluminum, so it will not take a coating? Not sure if aluminum can be powder coated to get the effect, and still be heat proof? Any ideas or a source would be VERY MUCH appreciated. Willing to take a drive if need be?

I have a fireplace insert louver and frame, that has a dated gold finish on it and want to put a brushed nickel or similar finish on it. Being as its aluminum it can't be plated (so I am told)? If I need to have something made to make this work and send it to a chromer i will. But need a starting point.

Sure it can be plated. Your plating vendor can remove the brass finish. If it can be shipped, you'll open yourself up to a much better vendor selection.

 

Thanks! Found a few places in Bridgeport CT. Going to make a few calls tommorow. It could also be anodized just a matter of finding a place that will do the work? If anyone has a place NY Northern NJ or CT please let me know.

Yes you can absolutely plate aluminum. Here's a little guide to standard aluminum finishes.
