Hard to say. Are you talking attatched to your house? I had a 24x30 detatched two 1/2 car put up two years ago and it cost me aroung 20 K. That was everything including the 30 ft wide by 40 ft long concrete driveway.
Things may be more expensive in NJ as opposed to PA though
REDGAR, it might be cheaper than mine. Mine was built on the side of my house where there was a little hill, hence backfilling the hole(fpundation). Generally attatching them to an existing structure is easier unless you are knocking out walls from an old garage. Go as big as you can afford. You will not regret it :yesnod:
Cost me $10k for my garage in Delaware attached to the house, 24x24, no insulation. two 8 ft doors, two windows and one outside door and one door to the house.

That sounds a little cheap......but that is in Delaware not NJ. I am sure John could give a better ballpark since he is doing it. I am in the process of putting some ideas down on paper for an attached 3 car with living space above. Sometimes I feel that it would just be easier to move. :yesnod:
I guess you guys are afraid to swing a hammer? Even without a clue, Home Depot sells plans that most people can follow. Sub the concrete work out and maybe some of the electrical if you're timid! If not figure price at 1/3 cost and 2/3 labor! I'd save the 2/3 for some more vette mods! Just for fun, I built a 12 x 20 shed on a poured concrete pad. Total cost a little less than $1,000.00 and it sure beats the hell out of any of my neigbors $3,500 to $4,000 dollar sheds of the same size! I guess working construction all those summers pays off! Good luck Regar!

Mike, You're right, doing as much as you can yourself saves $$$. I'd like to see how you built that for a grand! The only thing I'm not doing is the concrete. BTW, who swings a hammer these days, it's air tools :D

Framing party sounds great! And as for air tools? Ahh you caught me on that one! Nothing like framing and sheathing with a nail gun! :) I didn't have the attachment for the roofing nails so I had to bang them by hand! :(
Regar you might want to buy the roof trusses pre fabed as well. I built my own but many lumber companies will put them together for you for a few bucks!
