My buddy said he saw on the news that chevy 73 was loading all their vettes on trucks.Did they go belly up????????Never bought a car there ,didnt like there pushy sales people, but they had ALOT of inventory.............Sad state of affairs if its true.............
Maple Shade Township board did not approve the Wawa at the Classic Chevy location, so no Wawa. Classic Chevy has purchased some of the Chevy 73 inventory and is looking hard at moving to that Berlin location as a new or additional location.

That kind of sucks, I was hoping Wawa would make the Shell Station across the street drop their prices to compete. Wouldn't mind getting V-Power for less.
A good freind of mine is a salesman at Barlow Chevrolet in Delran, NJ. He told me months ago that this was coming. It was pretty much expected by other local dealers, too. If I remember right, Chevrolet came in a couple months back and "removed" the owner, or at lease pulled his franchise. I think GM has been trying to find someone else to come in and take over. I believe Charlie Hessert (Classic's owner) was probably the leading candidate, if he could do something with the Moorestown property.
This has been a sleazy dealership since it became 73 Chevrolet. I've heard rumors circulating about them for 3 or more years, legal issues such as deceptive advertising and sales practices and problems with them making their floor plan payments. I don't know how true they are, but after stopping to look at a truck there, I would never go back. I hate to see anyone lose their job, but no one's going to miss this dealer!
I bought my 81 Vette there new in Nov. 81 (and still have it!). Then it was a small, family owned dealership known as H. G. Parkin Chevrolet, just 2 or 3 salesman and a salesmanager. Later it became Merenda Chevrolet (I think I spelled it right) and started to grow.

I remember when it was Merenda. Almost bought my first car there. Berretta GTZ.
As for sleazy dealerships in the area, they were pretty bad. But no one comes even close to the Cherry Hill Tri-plex. Won't even step foot on their property.
