So I go to Town Fair Tire today to order/buy new tires for the C-5. I wanted non run-flats and they would not order or mount for me because of liabilty reasons. Their computer calls for run-flats only. He says they have reports that the soft sidewalls on the non run-flats causes poor driving and the tires can come off the rims. Sounds like BS to me.
What gives? I know others have done this.
Give me your thoughts on this please.
Davey....DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY with town unfair tire!
Lots of threads here on NON runflat choices.
I would try Luke at Tire Rack..he is a member here and would probably know about different Vett size choices...
Sending you a PM...
A ZO6 does not come with runflats, so what are they talking about? You can get non runflats from TireRack delivered to a dealer they work with in your area, and they will be installed correctly by that dealer. I got tires for my C4 from them, and everything went perfectly.

Not to bash, BUT, Denise went to a town fair tire and they stole all the change from her console.. What's up w' that?? Bast**ds. Never again. Costco! (or tire rack)
I manage a Costco on LI. We are running a $70 off promo on a set of 4 michelins. This is not just a plug for my company, but we have the best trained people in the industry (Michelin certified) and by far exceed what any other tire retailer does with regard to safety and service. You'd be amazed how much there is to know about mounting a tire on a wheel and a wheel on a car. (and have it stay on) Go on UTube and you can see videos of wheel off incidents caused by tire retailers that take short cuts, or are just not aware of the safety steps that must be taken. I bought the michelin pilot run flats and love them, but we can get what you want and do it right.. You may want to go to your local Costco before deciding...
Hey Dave who did you talked to at the Enfield Town Fair Tire store, the manager? Whoever you talked to is all messed up!!!!!!!!!!! As a matter of fact I talked to them recently about new tires for my 01 and this never came up. Tires are much cheaper going thru Tire Rack though. There are also quite a few shops in the areas that support Tire Rack. They run for mounting and balancing about $25 to $50 per tire and you still come ahead.

Joaquin,
I had talked to someone in the West Springfield, MA Town Fair Tire. They would match the Tire Rack's tire price + $13/tire balancing and a free alignment. When I got there, he pulled info up on their computer and then refused to order the non-run flats. I will never go back there for anything. I am going to try Enfield and maybe some other places, too.

I haven't bought tires from anyone but The Tire Rack in years. Always great experience with them. In early January I bought 4 snows + rims w/tps for my better half & got 'em in three days! (Took me 4 days to get around to putting 'em on.)
