this is my friend's C4 & he just began to have a problem with his rear hatch. it doesn't want to open. you can hear the clicking but it doesn't want to pop open. any suggestions???
If the relay's clicking, then the wiring for that part is fine. There's 4 terminals on the relay, one is ground, one is constant +12 volts, one is the trigger and the last one is voltage out to the solenoid. You know you have ground and trigger, since it's clicking. Make sure you have +12V and when someone holds down the switch for hatch release, the 12V is switched to the remaining terminal. If all that's ok, check the wiring to the release solenoid, if power and a good ground are there it's either a mechanical failure in the latch(not very likely) or a bad solenoid. If you need any more info, drop me an email.
