Default Vette attracts poor driver!

Ok..My wife and I are in the vette yesterday. Top Down, wife driving.
We are going the speed limit and this guy in an Audi is tailgating real bad. My wife speeds up and maintains 6 MPH over the speed limit. The guy is still right on our butt. We come up upon a truck doing like 20MPH. Not much we can do since it's a one lane road with double yellow lines. Now the Audi attempts to PASS US ON THE RIGHT ON A SINGLE LANE ROAD! My wife drifts right so the guy can't make this jack *** move. So...what happens??.. We come to the end of the road where it turns into 2 lanes. The guy comes up next to us, has his window up and his mouth is going a mile a minute giving us attitude. WTF?...Just another jacka$$ who shouldn't have a license. Seems the vette attracts them all!

Dude, I was telling you to GTF outta my way!

I've seen some crazy stuff like that as well. I may get impatient at times, but
never put anyone's life at risk like that. Sorry for the stupidity out there.
I got a lot less once I left Jersey, but it still happens occasionally.

Stupid is an epidemic. The biggest tragedy is that when morons like that are on the road, it is usually innocent people who get hurt.

You have to drive even more defensively in the vette because people are truly haters.. or prejudiced about vette drivers.

The worst are BMW Owners.. I dont know what it is but without fail I will always get harrassed or challenged by a guy in a Beamer.. I could totally be minding my own business.. but nope... nothing against BMW people it really is just uncanny how so many of them try to provoke me. I know they all arent like that thank goodness but sheesh

Stupid is as stupid does! Not much to do in a situatoin like that other than to get way out of the way & maybe call the guy's plate & description to the local PD or Trooper barracks.

`Vettes seem to be a stupid magnet. And it attracts the jet-fighter metaphors. I love it when I'm crusin' in the Z and some Jer@off in a Ram Hemi wants to make his mark. I had a Hemi Ram, and believe me, they are go-loud but NOT go-fast!! 345 hp in a 5500# brick does not = a `vette killer! But stupid festers. I'm getting better in controlling my rage at these buffoons. Giving in to any of them invites not only points and fines, but greatly increases the chance of injuries, fatalities, and damage/loss of your own car! I played the game in my 20's through my 40's. Now in my 50's, I'm done. I pick my battles now - and usually it is when I'm cruising with a group.

Knew I wasn't the only one who experienced this nonsense. I felt bad for my wife. She was really bummed out by this guy being on our bumper. It sort of ruined the driving experience for her yesterday.

Oh well...I need to get over it and move on.

Thanks guys for letting me vent!

Personally, I've noticed more Range Rover people in my area of Jersey being a** wipes.

I had my time with Audi, and it's over, thank goodness. Great car, way overpriced, and ridiculous to maintain. Quattros eat up tires like crazy. Audi customer service at dealerships, and Audi of America is the absolute worst of any car company ever. No wonder these people act angry. They are pi**ed off whenever they have to deal with Audi, and see the bill.

Good to know. I was thinking about an Audi as a new DD, but have heard tales similar to this, so I think I'll pass.

An Audi is a great drivers car. However, they cost alot, and do not hold their value like BMW, LEXUS, ACURA, or other cars. They are also VERY expensive for service. I had an issue with a dealer, and they were completely unresponsive until I went to car shows, and had a sign telling people they ripped me off, and handed out fliers with a list of all the things they did to me, and to other people i met on several Audi websites, like the forum. All of a sudden, they wanted to be nice.
Audi of America in Michigan, just told me that I was right, and the dealer was wrong, BUT, they wouldn't do anything. I had to get the dealer to work things out, Audi wouldn't.

Actually, a good friend of mine likes Paul Miller. His wife just bought a used, certified A4 cabriolet with the V8 engine, quattro, and 6 spd. He is a real car guy, and he loves this car. She has had several Audis, and is returning a Saab Turbo vert at the end of her lease, and now has the Audi. They can afford this car, most average folks can't.

And the epidemic is growing.

I'm on the GSP the other day, three laps bumper to bumper, I'm in the right lane because my exit is coming up soon.

All of a sudden a van with NY plates comes flying around me on the shoulder! Scared the crap out of me because I really didn't expect it. The van then muscles his way into a spot and continues looking for a way to 'by-pass' all three lanes of traffic.

It happens to me almost every time I take her out. The other night, as I was going to pick up my daughter from work, this guy in a beemer plasters himself on my rear bumper. All I could see was face in my rear view. So------ I just gradually came to a complete stop, which completely stopped him. The funniest part was watching him squealing away at high speed. Oh- forgot to mention- when I finally caught up to him, he was pulled over by an Edison cop. Justice done

Love that story, exactly how I would handled it and the exact outcome I would have liked to have seen! Gotta love it.

It also seems to me too that others are usually all over the back of my C6. Usually I try tapping the brake to try to wake them up and get them off my bumper, but that seems only to p!ss them off worse. I may try this technique, if not too much traffic is around.
