Things are looking up
We had an entrepreneur meeting today at Viking and had the groups taking tours all day long. I had a few people tell me to go look out front but didnt have time until 2:00pm when I was leaving for a doctors appointment. This is what was parked out front along a ton of other high end vehicles...I was in a rush so this is what I got..
P.S.
Sales are picking up and our boat show season starts in October. We might be seeing a small light at the end of a long tunnel
Anyone else seeing positive changes where they are employed?

Not a bit up here. The local union hardly has any jobs on the books for the next part of the year. The Xanadu Project is still on hold. The only thing going in commercial construction are a few small box stores, and one or two municipal buildings with small crews there to spread out the work.
Residential construction is limited too, and those who are working want to hire anyone desparate for a job at rates usually only associated with illegal day laborers. We all know that you get what you pay for, but most folks just don't get it, that is ,until some a**clown works on their house with no knowledge and no insurance, and wrecks the place. The construction industry here is bleak at best.

Sorry to hear
I myself am shocked at the buyers for our multi million dollar yachts ..and they are comming out of the woodwork. The problem with us isnt people to buy our product but that the Bank financing is at a crawl and making it harder to trade in an existing Viking to finance a new model.

You should see things from my financial side - loans can't be given because our balance sheets are in the tank due to lousy investments by the "investing gurus".

Can't help but wonder if your monied buyers aren't seeing the writing on the wall with all of this "surtax" talk on high earners. They know the taxes on "the rich" are coming because it sells well regardless of its real impact on the economy. So perhaps they're moving the purchases of things like your yachts forward to beat perceived inevitable tax increases on luxury items. Regardless glad to hear you guys are seeing some movement. Our business is down but we've been chugging along (knocking the hell out of wood) and booking orders, but certainly an uneasy time.
That SLR is completely over the top! Can't decide if it's extremely cool or extremely ridiculous.
