Manhattan is a big island. Do you have a more specific location??

Driving a Vette in the city is awesome , its like real life frogger .
If you decide to drive in , the Central Parking lot on 38th Street bettween 7th and Broadway knows how to take care of a Vette , parked there for years .

I just love driving up there. We took the Z06 up over the VZ, BQE to the Brooklyn Bridge, went right up Center st then Lafayette towards Union Square then follow north to about 79th I think and cut through the park to the west side.
We parked in that area (right next to the Beacon Theather)
You're probably right though for someone who doesn't know how to get around it's best to take the train and enjoy the city on foot and Subway.....
We also did the Christmas run with Shermon and the gang last December. I just like driving in town for some reason... I love the Federal Plaza area as you come down off the Brooklyn Bridge where the Federal Court House is at Pearl & Center sts..

And you didn't wave as you drove passed our house?? (We are right over the VZB off of the BQE). We actually walked part of that route - parked at the base of the Brooklyn Bridge and walked over and up Lafayette to Union Square and back down & over the Manhattan Bridge back to Brooklyn.
Things are a bit different now .... they have reformatted alot of the streets in Manhattan, cutting down car lanes and added bus & bike lanes. They have also closed 2 major intersections to traffic - Herald Square and Times Square and put in tables, chairs and potted plants.
So, now you have the same amount of traffic on the with a lot less space to put them.
This week we have the UN in session, so it has been horrible. We went from our house to a gallery in Long Island City (right by the Queensboro Bridge) 14.2 miles. It took 1 hour and 45 minutes to get there via the BQE.
We do the Christmas run at night on a weekend day, traffic is a lot, lot, lot less then during a weekday.
Last year on that Sunday night (12/7) was the worst time I EVER had coming up out of the Lincoln Tunnel and going up 42nd st. It was a Cluster F^%$ of all Clusters. I doubt it was normal and certainly not what I was expecting for a Sunday at 6:00pm.... but what a mess. Once we got moving up 42nd st though the rest of the trip was a breeze.
Running up Madison and down 5th with you guys was a fun time.

A New York City resident's definition of "...a lot less traffic..." may not conjure up the same image for those outside of NYC.
my bad, relative to weekday traffic during the day weekend nights are better but there is still traffic. And during the holiday season there are lots of gridlock alert days too. And as Linda said with the UN in session they have a lot of street closures in the UN area.
